Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Would it be possible to make a train using eurofighter cars without it looking too bulky? The single car won't provide a very good throughput. Saw only just scrapes 1000 riders an hour and that's with a dark ride section with a few blocks too. Or could Gerstlauer have a new style train? I think most...

Re: 2012: Neglect, decay - demise?

Chessington's toilets have all been referbed this season. The managment have said that mothers with children will judge an attraction on how nice it's toilets are. Spot on. At work (I work in a school), prospective parents are shown the refurbished toilets first before even going into any classroom...

That's the reason why I stated that it will be nicer than Flamingo Land's accommodation. :P

Re: If you owned alton towers for ONE DAY what would you do?

1. Restore everything to how it used to look when it was new.
2. Get rid of BK for in-house catering.
3. Give them a few ride concepts or help with any existing ones.
4. Make it a special 'TTF only' day :P

This looks great! It certainly looks much better than what Flamingo Land have to offer. I hope this gets passed and the park are able to take a step up in the UK theme park industry.

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

Nice and quaint. I love it! It should be a great addition to the park. The theming of their new rides is getting better, and they proved they can also retheme old rides well too which gives them a new lease of life, something new to market but doesn't cost as much as a brand new ride. I hope this co...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

That'd be pretty epic. It's impossible to create a man-made valley at Thorpe (and way too expensive anyway), but I'd love to see them give it a go!

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

This is why Merlin need more competition. If it wasn't for the fact that they've got the largest foothold of the UK entertainments then I assume that most or even none of these cost saving methods would have been implemented. How I wish another big theme park could be set up over here. It'd be game-...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

I have three words for this matter... Merlin can't win.  But the sad thing is is that they are. They've got nobody to compete with. They operate the largest and most prestigious range of attractions across the UK and parts Europe and beyond and they're making a lot of money. A lot. So w...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

This is where i believe Merlin should sell off Chessington and keep: ⋅ Alton Towers - as the main UK Merlin themepark (families/Thrill) ⋅ Thorpe Park - Thrillseeker park ⋅ Legoland - Children's Park Chessington isn't needed by Merlin and the (LITTLE) money spent there ...

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

The thing is, if they listen to the complaints and choose to reverse their decision then where will they go to make cuts afterwards? This is a loose loose situation for all of us.

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

Besides preparing an email to Merlin, I've also changed my Favourite ride to 'Skyride' as a pointless constant visual reminder. That's all I can really do. We've created topics and voiced our opinions and things just get worse. :|

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

I hardly blame you for that  :P Just to give you a bit more information the base area used to store the fires ignition fuel for The Swarm is somewhere in-between it and Tidal Wave. I believe a pipe has already been put in place which leads to Tidal Wave (and there’s a picture somewhere of main...

Or do both. It's a well-known fact that some of AT's management look at these forums which is why providing feedback here doesn't always go to waste.

But some of the GP are starting to complain. As I said just, the amount of sensible comments on Facebook and Twitter being made to Alton Towers aren't just enthusiasts any more.

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

I'm going to keep my hopes up for this, even if it may be unlikely to be anything big. Tom makes a good point about the marquee being moved for convenience, but what about the maze? And the person that posted this over on ValleyMania forum put a 'wink' face at the bottom of the post too. That must c...

Might it be possible to sink a separate pool / body of water into the lake that's clean and then fit the fountains into that?
