Re: New over 18's scare attraction this June

I used to work to Euroboy and Eurocreme in my prime. Im not telling you what the titles were though  ;)

seriously though, goodluck with the event. We need an attraction that pushes the boundries and this sounds like it may be the trick.

Re: New over 18's scare attraction this June

Sounds good but is this really viable? Your going to earn £1500 which is £500 per night and that has to cover all your actors, props lighting and music? Most people will want £500 just to get there kit off. Thats what I used to charge but then it was fo hardcore.

Re: Thorpe Park 2013: Possible Ride Discussion

I think people view Thorpe with the wrong attitude tbh. Thorpe is an evolving place, still growing and developing by the year. Its incredibly dynamic. Certainly the infrastructure is poor but there is no doubt that the place is maturing and there is only small cosmetic changes that could vastly impr...

Re: Could/Should Alton push it a bit with effects

Thats a really good idea actually. On SubTerra, you could also have a bucket load of real feces dropped on your head to simulate the monster defacating on you. Seriously though, I get what you are saying. I think mundane effects like water and vibration will always be the limit tbh but I do agree th...

Re: Travellers on park

I think it would have been a good idea to have some sort of informative message at the entrance. something along the lines of 'We expect the park to be very busy today and heightened security is in place. Please be aware that Q jumpers, thieves and abuse will not be tolerated. If you are a family wi...

To be honest, that does look like quite an intense experience.

A coaster near the entrance or next to Swarm.
Also many, many flat ride locations

I hope I'm not being stupid, but what does "experience" mean in the top corner?

could that be a rock climbing 'experience' or something similar?

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

From what I understand of the sequence after the drop it sound like they are trying to replicate stitches great escape ride at disneyworld florida. In that ride you sit in a circle in the dark and some monster thing runs around the room, sneezes in your face and prods you in the back. I thought alth...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

I think the problem with this kind of ride experience is that what makes a ride thrilling is the unexpected. Oblivion works because on a first ride you dont know how its going to feel to freefall into a hole into the ground. Nemesis works by gradually turning up the dial as you negotiate the first t...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

I think a woody would be the perfect addition for TP in 2015. I know Merlin have it in their heads that wooden rollercoasters are perceived as unsafe but if there is ever a target market to attract a woody, surely the asbo teens would be well up for it. Scarey and thrilling rides sum up the whole li...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

I have not yet ridden this thing but I was excited about the prospect of a ride where they took the trouble to dig a huge hole in the ground. After all that engineering and money spent you would have thought that they would have done something to justify the time and money spent. As far as im concer...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Has anyone else noticed that after leaving the first brake and entering the helix, the train actually slows down despite travelling downwards. I noticed it the second time I rode and looked out for it when sat at the back and I checked to make sure that the train had left the brakes at the top and b...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I have also just returned from Thorpe. Great day out made all the better with the Swarm. The atmospherics like the sound effects, large set pieces and tv reports really add to the drama of the area. A real sense of tension is built but the ride itself is not quite as good as I had hoped. Admittedly ...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

With the Olympics this year I can see Thorpe being a sellout throughout the summer. I had best get a ride in early. I wonder if they really try to push it with the extra crowds arriving by using adverts on the tube and airport advertising like most foreign parks do. I have to say I was SHOCKED at th...

Parks in Australia? - trip planning

Hi. I am hopefully going to Australia in June for 3 weeks travelling around cairns in an RV and we are trying to do it on a budget but between the 3 of us its already costing £5000 so any spending money we have will likely be put towards things unique to OZ like seeing the great barrier reef etc but...

Reef Aquariums in the south

I have recently started a marine aquarium and im interested in visiting a couple of marine places in the south. I have been to Brighton and also Portsmouth Reef aquarium but neither feature much of a decent tropical marine setup. If anyone can recommend some it would be much appreciated.

Re: Flats and coasters which have been an utter failure

I think you have already gone with the pinnacle of failures by choosing sky swat. It is a huge hulk of a ride that does nothing more than hold you upside down uncomfortably. I think (forget the name) the flat in x sector is pretty close to the sky swat in terms of a crappy ride experience but at lea...
