Re: Finally going to Alton Towers!

That's an amazing reply, thanks for taking the time to do that. Sounds like AT can still be done in a day then. Is Charlie worth doing? was not there when I last went. Also are the gardens in any better condition these days? back in 05 they were left to ruin.

Finally going to Alton Towers!

Well finally I am going back to Alton Towers after a long, long break. I have been trying to go to Alton for many years but every year I have priced up the cost of travelling up from the south coast and staying for a night and I find that the cost makes it better value to go to Europa, Port Aventura...

Re: Ticket Prices To Rise for 2014

I have priced up a trip to Alton Towers every year for the past 10 years and every time I decide that its not worth the money. Consequently I have not visited since before Charlie and the chocolate factory. I think the last time I visited was when the car parking charge had been introduced. Living o...

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

I don't mean to sound like a troll but I'm glad I'm going to California this summer to get my rollercoaster fix because every year I give Thorpe a second chance I come away disappointed. There are so many other parks in the world worth going to which are so much better than Thorpe. I won't be return...

Re: Germany September 2013

Great to hear you are going on a road trip. I also weighed up the two options and personally would fly to Basel with easyjet. I did this last year and It cost £110 return for two inc luggage but we could have done the trip using hand luggage and it would have been £80 return. with my car I worked ou...

Re: Thorpe Park VIP experience

If my boyfriend buys me this for Christmas knowing I am an enthusiast, I will punch him in the face and tell him he is an idiot.

A good Rollercoaster book?

Im looking for a good rollercoaster book to get my head into to put onto a Christmas list. Im looking for something that talks about the design process of creating a rollercoaster without being boring to an enthusiast. Not interested in John Wardleys back story but if anyone can recommend something ...

Re: California trip

Thanks for the messages. Im still un decided on this as the idea of mooching around the two Disney parks on a two day hopper seems like a nice way to spend part of our holiday but on the other hand its going to cost £250 for two tickets plus parking and food on top to do it. I may do Knotts as this ...

California trip

I am about to book a visit to family friends in LA for next summer which has come as an unexpected visit due to someone passing away. The trip is really to spend time with the widow in San Diego but we plan to do some day trips to theme parks as well. Magic mountain is about 2 hrs away so we must vi...

Punctuation help please!

I have just written a poem to add into a card to go to a family friend who has lost her husband and I need a little help with the punctuation. If anyone can annotate the poem below I would be really grateful as she will appreciate good punctuation as much as the poem itself. Over time, the rain and ...

Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain

I have done Universal in LA and to be honest I was disappointed. I went when I was 16 and then revisited 10 years later and the place was exactly the same with the only new addition being the Mummy which is lame compared to Florida version. The park is set amongst a hillside and spread on a few diff...

Re: LED lighting

I work for an energy company and I spend most of my time persuading people to change from halogen GU10s to LED and most people have no clue yet as to what an LED is or the benefits of using them yet they will undoubtedly be the main type of lighting in the home within the next few years. They enable...

Re: Merlin Floatation

I think I would have to go to an investor presentation before making a decision. Merlin has already embarked on a rapid international expansion which could pay dividend's once the fruits ripen but equally it could be held back with debt and regress. I enjoy investing in AIM shares because they are m...

Re: Universal, IOA and Wet 'n' Wild 2014

I hope you have a really great time next year. I have not been since before Sheikra and even then it was the coldest month on record and I had flu the whole time. I would love to go back to check out all the new rides that have been built since but I figure that saving for a house deposit is more im...

Re: Anyone ever vomited on or after a ride?

I have never been sick although sometimes after simulator rides, I feel pretty awful and it lasts for at least a whole day afterwards. The worst culprit was a simulator at Terra Mittica. I'm pretty sure the video motion was slightly out. Back to the future and the SeaWorld ice helicopter trip thing ...

FULL Europa Park trip report part 2

We woke to another hot and sticky day and decided as we had done most of the main attractions, to spend today enjoying the ambiance of Europa as well as mopping up the things we had not done the day before. We started off with the Euro Tower as it was a walk on. This made for some lovely views acros...
