FULL Europa Park trip report

Here is my trip report for our five day Europa Park holiday. It has become a bit wordy as it is a review but also a whole account of the trip from beginning to end but hopefully it will help others when planning their own excursion and give some extra insight. Spoilers Beware. So on Wednesday we cau...

Re: Europa-Park: Trip Planning, Questions and Advice!

Im going on Wednesday for my birthday and I am looking for nearby Toboggan runs that we can do on our spare days for the rest of the week. Does anyone know of any local toboggans near rust?

Re: California - where to go...?

I have spent some time in California. I did a holiday blog when I went which you can find here:

If you are going to Knotts, I would recommend San Diego Zoo. Its the best zoo I have been to.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Maybe we should send AT a can of beans and a tin opener and see how they get on with that.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I I always get excited when I see the small details being added - queue signs, entrance graphics etc. Lots of people are being very negative about the themeing elements here and I think it's important to remember a couple of things. Firstly, the whole purpose of themeing is to make you look and obse...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Is it just coincidental that SAW had exactly the same problems on the PR event? I just wonder if they do this for the sake of drill practice or perhaps to give the stronger critics a focus of energy away from the ride experience itself? Im not normally full of BS conspiracy theories but it does seem...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I am loving the photo updates of the Smiler, thank you. I am watching with fascination at how this thing is taking shape. It looks so incredibly photogenic and building hasn't even finished yet. The theme is great and reminds me of Portal 2 in some ways. I cannot wait to watch/experience the ride in...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Notice the wheels of the trains that are on track vs the trains that are being lifted into position. With the trains on the track, half the wheels are white and the other half are dark however, with the train being lifted into position, all the wheels are dark which indicates that they are still pla...

Re: Theme Park Studio

Ive been liasing with Steve and Pentera Studios recently and managed to persuade him to begin a Kickstarter Project for Theme Park Studio which will really improve the final product. Take a look below, spread the word and support them in any way you can. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/101109924...

my guess is that the panels will power the led screen with any extra power generated fed back into the grid.

Re: Thorpe Park: X:\No Way Out Changes?

Just watched the POV and it looks pathetic. No timing and no music in the main building. Please tell me they are still going to add all this stuff.

Re: Thorpe Park: X:\No Way Out Changes?

Wow they have finally done what I have been asking for, for years. Nice to see that they have used some nice RGB lasers and with analogue modulation as well. They must be well over 2 watts, looking at the picture. I hope now that the block sections are used properly now to give a narrative to the mu...

Investing in Silver

Im researching things I can invest in as part of a diverse portfolio (look at me with my big words) Im guessing this portfolio is a metaphorical one or else I lost mine. Anyway one of the things im looking at is physical silver. I cant decide if I should pay a huge premium on coins at £27 per oz plu...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I cant wait to see the airtime hills and how low and parabolic they are. I'm hoping for ejector airtime and no trims like the grand national double drop where you worry for a moment that you are going just too fast to make it over and not like aolossus where you you just get a whiff of airtime.

Re: Ramesis Revenge program

Oh well that makes sense. Im talking around 17 years ago that they used to do this. Ramesis used to be almost a show in itself that people would cram around to watch at the top of the pit. I remember coughing up water on one ride.

Rameses Revenge

Does anyone remember when you could go on Ramesis revenge and the ride op would manually control the ride? You could actually ask the ride op to make you wet with the fountains and they would do their best to soak you. Or ask for some other thing like to be held upside down at the top etc. I wonder ...
