Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Does anyone else think that the track should have been a differnt colour to the supports in order to show off the design a bit better? The layout is the clincher with this ride but AT do not seem to have capitalised on it at all.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I dont know if it helps with the speculation with the idea of a launch after the barrel roll but the new coaster Karacho being built at tripsdrill features a launch along with the new gerst coaster trains and the launch section will be 70m long. Not sure about the speed differences with each coaster...

When I heard on the news that horse meat was five times cheaper than beef, I rushed to the laptop to try and buy some.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I agree. I think if it is a washing machine it should not count as an inversion anyway because its not coasting through the element

Re: X Sector Refurbishment

I would have thought to repaint Oblivion, they would have electrically charged the paint in the same way that they spray cars. It would have been so much quicker than using a brush.

Re: Best THEME park in the world?

I would have to put forward terra mittica because where it floundered with its meager ride line up it more than made up for in the theming. Lovely place that really feels immersive and genuine. Also very quiet which further enhanced the themes.

Re: Anyone ever been on an ice taboggan?

...Perhaps not then. But after researching it appears as though you can use a bobsleigh run in Latvia in either a padded mattress type thing for around £10 or the real deal for £35. Place called sigulda if anyone wants to know.

Anyone ever been on an ice taboggan?

Since rollercoasters these days seem to spin and flip in more and more differnt ways yet delivery less and less of an experience, I have decided that an ice taboggan would be a natural progression and its now on my bucket list. Im not talking about a taboggan run on wheels, I mean the real deal, eit...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

If the washing machine is inside the maintenance building, will there really be enough room for a 4 train transfer track plus the 4 train washing machine element?

Im interested to know what the area is of canopy 11 and above canopy A? could the track extend throughout this area?

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

What if the vertical lift was actually a long washing machine element that span as you approached the top. That would be cool But incredibly hard to have installation of it plus I wouldn't be as excited for the element if it was this way up as there would be no inversion True. That would actually b...

I am sorry to hear that Mr Wardley is retiring. He has given us all so many wonderful experiences. I am excited to see what new things will follow in the UK when a new a fresh mind steps in to take his place but the overiding feeling is anxiety that they will not live up to the precedent he has set ...

Re: Has anyone ever attempted to write a novel?

I write quite a bit. I currently have one near completed first draft, the first 52,000 words of which were written in November, that I'm taking a break from before plunging back in to finish and start editing. To pick up on what others have said about getting to know your characters first, some peo...
