Re: Orlando Holiday

Yes, they are good prices for the car - I can't imagine you would get much better.

If I remember right, I think it took me around 1 hour to get to Busch Gardens from my hotel near Sea World.

Re: PB River Caves, due refurbishment.

I'm a big fan of the river caves, despite only going on it once! I think your right about the tunnel of love sign, it does put people off. I had been to Blackpool a couple of times before and not ridden it on the assumption that it would be a cheesy mess. After riding i discovered that its pretty bi...

Re: British Theme Park Awards

You could make them official and not self-proclaimed just by getting the support of all the theme parks and asking them to recognise them as such should the awards be run and organised well. I'm sure they would see the benefits of having a national awards for their marketing and the one-up-manship t...

Re: British Theme Park Awards

Thanks for those. Only the ride rater one is like what I was thinking of and I was unaware of that one, so thanks for sharing! The other 3 are not really 'proper' ones with the tpvaa one only for 2010, globetravel just has best theme park and airgates(golden ticket awards) is not UK specific. My poi...

British Theme Park Awards

Hi All, Just a thought. Why is there not an annual awards for the UK theme park industry? I think there are quite a few smaller ones run by forums such as TT, but I'm not aware of a single awards that covers the whole of the UK and is recognised as a sort of ''official'' awards and indeed one that w...

Re: Parks in Australia? - trip planning

Are you going down to the gold coast or just staying in and around Cairns? I don't think there is much if anything up cairns way, but there are quite a few theme parks on the gold coast, but with Australia being so big its a fair distance between the 2!

Re: Florida september 2012 advise

Soarin is very good, but by no means the best. Test Track is much better in epcot alone. I would treat Soarin as being an equivalent type of ride to a dark ride, although a slightly more impressive one, mainly from the ride system used. I think your right that it recieves attention for being a great...

Re: Florida september 2012 advise

I went in 2010 for a week from the 8th September. It was very quiet, almost no queues for most things. Hulk was walk on, spiderman 15min, mummy 10min. At disney, Everest 5min, space mountain 15min, test track 20min, tower of terror 20min. Weather wise - you just have to hope to drop on I think. We w...

Re: Disneyland Paris gets $250m for WDS Expansion

I'm happy about this. It will give me a reason to visit now, which I have been holding out on due to visting Florida, which has most of what they do but more. I just hope that they can get more than just the ratatouille ride. A lake and World of colour show would be good please.

Re: Travelers on park today

A dress code could work, but I think the main thing that AT need to do is to kick people out who break the rules. Queue jump - out, smoke in queue - out, fight - out, steel - out. I'm not sure if they have the security to do this, but it would work. By chucking out smaller gangs when they queue jump...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2011 Discussion

^^^ This is correct. Earlier this year the ride stopped as we reached the top of the lift hill. They put the lights on and we got to ride round at a slower level than usual in the light and the staff watched us go round. Since it broke down we were given a front of the line pass to use next time. It...

Itroducing to you, fellow dragons, is the Vacu-case 3000: It's basically a normal wheeled holiday suitcase but with a twist... 3 spacesaver vacuum bags built inside he suitcase which plug in to the wall (just like an electric blow up bed). Just place your luggage into the bags, press the extract bu...

Football Finance

Football has its problems, mostly of the financial kind. I think most would agree that the big issues are players wages and clubs spending beyond their means and getting clubs into debt by taking big risks. The end result is that the fans loose out in that they have to pay incredibly high ticket pri...

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2011 Discussion

I guess some would say the park isn't big enough to do a week long Halloween, or a separate fireworks, and that it wouldn't be profitable. But I think the park will really ramp up their operations next year, in many ways. They're clearly trying to step up to play with the big boys, and I think next...

Re: Entrance Offers and Discounts 2011

Thanks, but I'm not local, so need something in a paper or at a petrol station/supermarket or the like. Appreciate the help though. I know they are not that common, but I did use one last year and went on the friday. It was fantastic as it was really quiet and got on all the rides with less than 15m...

Re: Entrance Offers and Discounts 2011

Anyone know of a BOGOF that is valid for the fireworks event?

Think I got mine from a sun or mirror paper in the indian whilst waiting for a takeaway last year. Wondering if they have them again.

Re: AVATAR Coming To Disney Parks

I for one liked Avatar the film. The storyline was very cheesy and has been done a million times, but the world they created was amazing - the main reason so many went to see it (in 3D ) - so this new land should look stunning. I do though share the same dissapointment intially that Animal King...
