Re: Colossus

I remember being in absolute awe of this when it first opened. It looked so impressive for, what i think was 14/15 year old me. It hasn't aged that badly when you think of how old she actually is. Yes she needs a bit of TLC in the way she looks and runs, but its not bad for a coaster that turns 17 t...

Re: Pleasurewood Hills

Earlier today, Pleasurewood Hills announced that family roller coaster The Rattlesnake will be returning with a twist.  https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/52712911_2621538617917386_8510150965976891392_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&oh=6bf90c2fd93e5e5f7f6750a58a882941&...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Don't forget Timber Tug, Rocky Express and Lumber Jump are still in Old Town at the moment and there has been no word on them. If they are to remain open, Old Town would need to remain open.

Re: Loggers Leap - Officially Retired

I won’t lie, it’s sad, but not at all surprising. I think I’m more surprised by the fact that it’s been actually announced. I think it’s time that it actually went. Parks have to move on. It was a fun ride but here’s hoping we can get something even better. It will be interesting to see what items t...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I haven’t said anything negative about others enjoying the ride. Everything I have said is my own personal opinion :) If people enjoy than they enjoy it. I am not the sort of person to hate on someone because they like something I don’t and if it came across like that than I apologise :)

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Right to begin with this explanation of why I hate this ride. This is my personal opinion! The Ride The actual ride itself isn't that great to look at. It looks like a pile of scrap metal in hole. The older its gotten the worse it looks. For someone who struggles with inversions generally, 14 is way...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

The fact the ride has a brilliant soundtrack, a great backstory, and of course a layout filled with inversions in a tight area.. The ride may be run down and in need of a good clean and repairs. But to say the ride hasn't got a good aspect is a bit harsh :-k I'm sure The Smiler has good and bad asp...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Ok, i'm going to throw a theory out there. This is just a THEORY! We know that the Charlie boat ride is going to be utilized for this, but what if they also use the glass elevator. The London Dungeon features a lift (An actual lift) and in theory there is nothing stopping them using the Great Glass ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I'm sure The Smiler has good and bad aspects to it. When I think of an actual good one, I will let you know :lol But Its bad aspects for me make it so unenjoyable to ride to the point where i'm happy no longer riding it. I've not liked the ride since its beginning. Its just not appealed to me. I gen...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I can fully understand the decision to add the VR. It was probably the best ride at the park to do it on. I think it was a clever idea and in year one it worked sort of. If Merlin/Towers wanted the VR to thrive, they would have sunk the money into the attraction in year 2 and 3, which they didn't, s...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I still adore this coaster, even if it doesn't adore me anymore. I am like Michelle too. The back half of the train is becoming increasingly harder for me to endure. Its purely because my body can't handle the forces and I come of feeling dizzy. Damn my body. But I can happily ride the front half, p...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Yet more flat rides bite the dust at Towers. Its a shame! I think everyone had already accepted that Sub Terra wouldn't be returning, but Twirling Toadstool is quite disappointing. I think the only times i'm near or in CCL in the past couple of years was to exit Hex or to do House of Monsters. Its l...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Not to shabby. Hopefully there will be reasons to want to stay at the park later during the summer and not just a redo of the tacky Love Island Lates

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I've never experienced actual Galactica. The idea of wearing VR on this coaster sort of ruins the coaster for me. Plus, given DBGT and how off their headsets are, I'd rather not risk it setting of my motion sickness. I do like the idea of Galactica, but it was a complete waste of money. They should ...

But yeah, social media replies aren't always the most accurate thing to rely on. They have a habit of trolling. But You never know. Could be true, but take it with a pinch of salt.

Re: SW9

Launch coasters aren't gimmicks in any way. In practical terms, they are perfectly suited to a park like Alton Towers which cannot have a high lift hill in most areas. We need a thrill ride for SW9, it has been nearly 6 years since the last one. An Intamin blitz in Forbidden Valley would do the job...
