Re: Legoland Windsor: Hotel 2012/2011 and other rides!

According to people working on park, it's a mack system. Which is niice to know.

I honestly can't really imagine how this'll turn out. Only way to find out is by going on it I guess!

Re: Alton Towers Live - Music Concert 19th June 2011

Nice line up and with the ticket prices I think we may see a quieter day than expected. I can't see family's forking out £55 for young kids. The coasters will take a pounding though. Families at a concert? That's a regular occurance ;). Think of if these were playing altogether in the o2. It'd be s...

Re: Alton Towers Live - Music Concert 19th June 2011

That's because the park day is discounted. The event will be a sell-out, busy enough to class it as an event day anyway. As for legolan, the basic lego pass never can get you in which is on par with MAP really. The reason lego copes is because its never busy on lego live, the maximum they've had in ...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

With all this talk of a MCBR helping colossus' throughput, most of the time due to the exit queue and awful train design, they aren't ready to dispatch the train when the other is waiting behind anyway! So it would barely help! That's down to operations though. Simple changes to exit pass policy, a...

Re: Alton Towers Live - Music Concert 19th June 2011

I'm pretty sure the date will be on the relevant MAP email newsletter. There's no point telling people now, as there'll only be around 10 people wanting that specific date at this time. It's on the website - as with everything, you check before you go to see if you can get in. Towers created the eve...

Re: Merlin's American expansion

but surely if they actually stopped buying new parks and actually just did the ones they own up, Im certain they would have a much better image than they currently do. Not particularly. They would be far less well known, have far less income and demand far less from their owners. I dunno why people...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Yeah, Towers can cope very very easily with 16k visitors, whereas thorpe having the same is a nightmare.

Plus, towers rides have the throughputs to cope, rather than 2hr colossus ;)

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: Future Discussion

It's typically Holiday Inn style expensive (though nice to see there's more emphasis on chessington than HI nowadays!).

What is good, is the annual pass and staff discounts. Mmm ;)

Re: "Charlie & the chocolate factory" Replacement

But the point aint getting at is AT hasnt done everything to the book which the ride is based on. The screen you see the ads on and Mike should show a video of what happened to the other 4 kids. Well they tell you what happened to them in each of the scene.. The television room.. showing adverts (o...

Re: 2011: Discussion

Will have to be a bigger tank - one killed the other in 09 because the tank was too small. They grow to a size of a small mini, so yeah!

Interesting that they're adding these when in 09 they said they were a "waste of money" ;)

Thanks for the courtyard tavern music - this is the stuff i'm always expecting when mutiny bay music comes out (the stuff played on the rides and at legoland basically!). So very happy, cheers!

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: Future Discussion

discussing whether or not Chessington may be theming the toilets? Unfortunately not - they are bland. Agreed, legos toilets were better before, although from an asthetic view i prefer current ones. As for saying towers ones are worse - eurgh. The only one better than towers would be LOTD which is t...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: Future Discussion

Some of them are having the legoland makeover effect. So, if you've visited lego in past 2 years you'll know what they're like. Quite decent!

Re: Covering Up Arm Tattoo's @ Alton Towers (Staff)

That comment makes me think of fairgrounds when they openly show tattoos. Compare that to theme park people, who can be essentially the same people in a uniform.. ;)

Re: Covering Up Arm Tattoo's @ Alton Towers (Staff)

Well suits are to show you've made an effort and want to do whatever you're wearing a suit for - not to judge based on the suit.

I completely agree with tattoos being covered over. Some can give wrong impression, and until people don't get that impression, should be covered up!

Re: The EDF Energy London Eye

It's a design flaw - the problem with the front tier is that the floor becomes dangerously slippery during the morning - when the shows running with not many people in it - so it's not able to be used. The bars at the front are design, and for you to hold whilst walking if you wish - the bars behind...

Re: Chessington charging for parking from July 2011

Now that doesn't make sense. They charge purely because people expect to pay to get to a theme park, its part of the getting there cost! Spend thousands on transport, and not get a penny back, or spend money on it and get a good return without any guests really minding (afterall, both thorpe and alt...
