Re: Old Bubbleworks or new Bubbleworks

It's just being repainted and cleaned up for first time since 06 - and the posters in the queueline are being replaced as they were ruined/removed.

Re: 2011: Discussion

To be fair - there are NO coasters which kids can go on if they're under 0.9m at legoland, the only nearish thing to that would be duplo train.. which is.. a train. So it's.. the norm really.

Re: Tory cuts

Well yeah I agree and understand you. The tory manifesto has a huge bit about making the burden for businesses easier and for it to be cheaper to employ and maintain staffing. It'll take its time, and they still have 4yrs to implement it - though I agree, the sooner they get around to it, the better...

Re: Tory cuts

Well the point the tories are trying to get across, is that the private sector should provide the jobs, provide the growth and the wealth. The government does not create wealth. It does not run like a business - quite rightly so in some ways. But in others when the private sector can run it more eff...

Re: Tory cuts

Article in the times yesterday suggested that Osbourne had a billion (up to 10bn some reports) to play with in the next budget - and was speculating on what they could use it for. Get rid of all the crap we don't need, and spend it on something decent. I'm all for a smaller BBC, less government cont...

Thats the big exit on london bound platforms - there are other exists, if you leave the station and you're standing in the carpark, you're on the wrong platform ;)

Re: Tory cuts

Well you can't really say that until the cuts actually like.. take shape. Like none of the cuts have really happened yet, or taken effect - so how much did they save last year from any sort of cuts? Nothing compared to this year. Save the post for 12 months time ;)

Re: Alton Towers: 10 Year Plan Revealed!

Does it honestly matter that we have nothing? It's not all that bad. What other parks get nothing in a year? Ooh.. As for thrill rides, I dunno.. I like that they've built a structure up so the most profitable and reliable returning guests are catered for - families. I far doubt they made as much re...

Re: The EDF Energy London Eye

*works at the eye, hence generic username* It does look nice tbh - you don't realise how depressive the old colourscheme was until you see this one. Although the old purple was very rich and gave an upmarket impression, the new stuff is a good change. It's light and open. The uniforms look, very muc...

Re: Competition in UK theme parks: are Merlin a monopoly?

I would say that merlin helps the smaller parks, by reminding that there are parks theme parks in the uk. I think leisure just doesn't do that well in Britain than it does abroad - remember the whole documentaries about towers and saying leisure is offhand - well it still is. Think butlins/haven.. t...

Re: The EDF Energy London Eye

The old logo - although I like it. The white circle is meant to be the london eye. Why isn't it in the middle of the logo? Why isn't it in line with other buildings, instead of falling off? Apart from that, the logo was nice. But staff all mentioned it to me when talking about it - I think it looks ...

Re: Chessington charging for parking from July 2011

Highly doubt that. Chessington is always the cheapest place to visit, its the quietest. Kinda shows they wont by the introductory fee being £1, whereas the other parks were at least £2. As for these, I hope they dont charge if you are told to park on the grass bit of north carpark (thats the one wit...

Jason Grimshaw from corrie! Probably the only person I've been excited to see whilst at a park.

Re: The EDF Energy London Eye

I prefer it to the merlin one (There's no white circle representing the eye.. which looked awful, seriously).

Going to look at it today, heard that the show looks amazing now :D

Re: Would you like to see these at Towers?

It feels so wrong to be saying this, but by far the best dryers (well, the Xcelerator are pretty good) are the airforce driers seen in lego. Mmm, they're bloody good. But make a mess underneath on the walls.

Re: Merlin Good or Bad for Towers

It's the private equity groups way of running. However, as majority of people noticed in 08 and so, these groups make the company look brilliant on paper, saddle it with debt from its own takeover and making it seem strong, then sell it on to make millions. There's just no attraction to buying those...

Re: Merlin Good or Bad for Towers

As many people have mentioned, at least with merlin you can almost physically see where the money is going. Let's think, for this year.. merlin are rebranding and opening attractions in blackpool, have bought some sydney attractions, building krake and raptor. I'm pretty sure that costs a bit! Plus,...
