Re: The Future of Gloomy Wood- Upgrades Ideas

TBH I was really surprised when i first saw the plans for 13 that they didn't try to get it in the Gloomy wood, as the theme fitted that are much better that having to re-theme everything, and it would have worked better considering it's supposed to be the step up ride from RMT and Spinball to Nemes...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

The reason (I) and others are questioning the fact of weather or not it's Gertslauer is due to the fact there's faults in the planning permission, the track style is wrong, and the fact that the second lift hill supports scream HRRR. Plus Gertslauer don't have good track records with throuput. (the ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Good shout, actually. I totally forgot Intamin's new style track. But the lift supports are nothing like Farenheight, and the supports seem to be round, not square, and don't appear to be Intamin style. Thirteen was compared to a Vekoma, so it's possible I suppose, I haven't seen Gerstlauer specifi...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

Don't know if it's been posted yet, but you can hear the new 'radiation announcement' here .. I also love how this is the polar opposite of what the Pleasure Beach are currently doing, with no indication of what (if anything) is happening behind the Gold Mine deconstruction walls. That's probably b...

Re: Air Tunnel

Theming on Air is none existent really, and with N:WLB coming next year, attention will be once again on that side of the park (rather than Dark Forrest/Ug Land) so you would think that they'll theme it properly then. Unless....SW7 really is going to be with air as a new themed area past FV. However...

Re: Coaster Corner's Future

What about a really spectacularly themed outdoor play area? Something like these: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XU9x8G7khv0/S8clRoRL8nI/AAAAAAAAOS8/bhggODznp8M/s1600/castleHigh%2520Park.jpg http://www.discussthemagic.com/distionary/upload/DSC05750.JPG http://www.cincinnatifamilymagazine.com/new/images/...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

I feel sorry for C:WOA I really do. Such a better, friendlier more attractive park than Thorpe yet in the past 10 years Thorpe have had untold millions pumped into it more than doubling their coaster count whereas in the last 10 years C:WOA has had what? a thrill ride taken away to Thorpe and a brea...

Re: Old McDonald's Farm Yard - Future

They could probably move some of the bits in the play area to a different part of the park. Maybe open up coaster corner and use it as a big outdoor play area along with a new kids/family flat. The Ice Show Tent needs to be replaced with something though as it's such a waste of space and, according...

Re: Old McDonald's Farm Yard - Future

Like what Ashleek said, I don't think that it'd be good for Old McDonald's farm to be busy (and to a lesser extent CCL). Nor do I think the area is in need of anything like a re-theme or new ride. However that spinning barnyard thing would be pretty cool, and a helter skelter disguised as a Silo wou...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

With regards to people saying 'why ABC?' I think it's mainly because Merlin have worked with them before for similar rides, and since they've bought so many of them they probably got the best deal from them for what they're looking for. The ride itself I don't think will be static tower, and think i...

Re: Top Scan in dark forest? (or somewhere else in the park?

The reason I want one is because they're usually a solid ride, not massively expensive and new. It's really sad times when you consider Submission (the only ride i specifically never go on) was the last flat in 2002. I think the reason that people want a Move it 24/32 is because they have pretty goo...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

It's a new dark ride, and one that is tied with the best ride on the park=Epic win for me. I don't think it really matters if it's an extremis esque ride as long as the experience is good and the pre-shows post shows or whatever are of good quality, immersing the riders into the story and builds ten...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

You do realize that I'm talking 20-30 odd years here? I'm not saying that they have to do everything within the next 10. If you have the funds available you can invest at as fast a rate as you want, as longs as you fully think out the pro's and cons of each ride and each on the others. The only reas...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

Regarding CC, just because a building matches the architecture of the towers doesn't mean it will have any effect. At the end of the day, it's intruding on the view, whether it looks like part of the real Towers or not. And use some logic. People screaming on Oblivion was 'too loud'. If they built ...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

How do you 'secretly plant' a large tree? I don't think you appreciate the strict control and scrutiny the land AT owns is under. That area is not in the GDO, otherwise Thirteen would have been built without a fuss from the locals. Actually it's only the bit that goes into the woods not in the GDO,...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

Rita won't be going anywhere for 15 years minimum. Sorry. That yellow box includes too many trees, and the locals don't like them building there. Thirteen had enough problems, it's unlikely they'll be allowed to build there again, let alone so soon or so big. With the red circle, you're forgetting ...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

^^^Hense the  Since it's hard to predict (impossible actually) what new things and technologies will come out, using current tech these are the rides I would install, and potential places. First of in X-sector I would sell Submission, it's not popular and often you only ever find people who ha...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

Almost don't know where to start. So I'll start with a question. Who's going to pay for all this? Merlin Entertainments make nigh on a billion in terms of revenue, and about 200-300m profit. It's about time they spent some quality money on the towers. Also if they truly believe that they're second ...

Changes, and thoughts for the future.

Basically what changes would you make for next year, and what would you add/remover for the future? Before we begin I'd get rid of this obsession with world firsts, all a ride has to be is either a) pure quality b) unusual to the uk/europe but not the first, as the brand is now big enough we don't n...

Re: Future of the Dark Forest

I've always thought that in the circle bit with some random crap in next to the games stall bit that a top scan could go there and easily fit in with the Dark Forrest theme.
