Re: The Smiler - Speculation

the first stop will be the block brakes, possibly timing for a potential dueling capability (which is the only thing we haven't had confirmed or denied yet). The second pause, is due to the way in which Gerst's lift system works. there is a "catch block" attached to the chain at a certain ...

Re: Alton Woodie

Yeah unfortunately not, as this was submitted in the days before planning docs were made available online. I've got a lot of detail for the gardens as far down as FV, but unfortunately, the woody was planned to sit a bit further down than that. Google earth will prob be useful for you, as it shows t...

Re: Alton Woodie

The plans are available here - http://old.towerstimes.co.uk/history/plans/woodie.htm - they will probably be the best for making a rough layout. Unfortunately I have no detailed plans for the area of the valley that this coaster was intended to go (as yet), and even if I did, it would be extremely d...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Can I stop this speculation about fast passes right here please. It has been confirmed by Towers themselves on 2 occasions, that fast track will not be available for The Smiler for at least the first month, maybe two or three. I don't know the reasons behind it, but I welcome the decision. The point...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

It'd be pretty cool if the buckets had a good old illusion trick to them like the theme of The Smiler. That would be pretty good :) I think it would be cool if they could incorporate the 5 marmalising elements into the game as well, although I'm not sure how they would achieve this :P How about thr...

The Boz Special: Pepperoni, salami, roast chicken, grated cheese, in that order, then normal cheese on the other side, toasted, then a drizzle of mayo :chew:

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Regardless of what it says on that vid description, I have it on reliably good authority from people on park, and from those ATG pics from this morning, that there is barely a cloud in the sky today. I don't know when that video was recorded, but it certainly wasn't this morning. Edit, the full titl...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Well, the 200 hours figure came from myself, and was based on info I learnt whilst working at TP during Stealth's construction. I have since however, been reliably informed, that it may not be the case with different manufacturers, so who knows at this point tbh.

It certainly is very exciting, whether or not that's as far as they have tested it, or if they did multiple test runs and decided to leave it there to tease the enthusiasts, only the park will know :)

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Lots of these lights are currently beings taken out of flight cases in the X Sector. I just spoke to one of the builders and apparently they are using them for filming something tomorrow and will NOT be used on the final ride. The Flasher was also tested and looks impressive, but it was very sunny ...

Can I take this opportunity to remind all users that duplicate accounts are against the TTF T&Cs. The Miles Cedars account was a fake, and has now been removed, please disregard it. If anyone is found to be doing this in future, you will risk a permanent ban from this community. Keep Smiling Boz...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

We've been told there is a maximum capacity of 64 (from the stats that used to be displayed on AT's Smiler minisite), Therefore, we can safely assume it will be 4 trains 8)
