Anyone got any photos of what the submission space looks like currently?... Is it just brownfields or has it been turfed over?

don't have a picture... but it has been 'turfed over' so doesn't look too bad :nervious:

Re: SW8

Submission's removal clearly wasn't planned considering a reasomable amount of money was spent on it between 2012 and 2013 to get both sides up and running (which was pointless with a ride with minimal queues, although does look good with both), and one side apparently broke again, so i think there ...

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Personally I think we'll see CoS stay, as well as TotT, I don't think The Sanctuary will return, but may see a new maze in its place, or elsewhere in the park like a haunted hollow walkthrough or duel live brought back - zombie scare zone will probably stay.

Re: How do you feel about re-riding rides?

I have done pretty much every ride every time I've been to Thorpe and Alton these last couple of years... And of course I've done lots of re rides as I go off peak quite often. I would prefer to do one of each and go back, but it's not always practical due to time and how spread out the rides are, s...

Re: Mitch Hawker polls 2013-14

I have sent off a ballot for both but got no confirmation, so not sure if it's worked.. Anyway, The Smiler, as cool and unique it is, it is such a rough ride with a few notable bad jolts it lost any potential to become a worlds best ride, which nemesis has been known for since its opening and is sti...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

i went yesterday, i enjoyed it a lot, must have done oblivion 7 times on early ride time, then walked through the smiler single rider at 10, 1 person waiting, they let us single riders up first, 4 of us, and straight onto the front row , first train of the day, haha. When we walked to oblivion some...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Visit on a day like today, and won't need fast track with everything (besides the smiler and air at times) had a minimal wait or walk on, never had that on sonic spin ball before, was so happy! I must say I was quite shocked and pleased that they ran nemesis and Rita on two trains when for how many ...

Re: The Future of The Flume

and Manta is too much like Air though. The Manta they're on about is in San Diego http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAgqTPKwrWM, (not the B&M flyer at sea world orlando) which is a jet ski launched coaster due to height restrictions, but a family version of rita, possibly with motorbike style seat...

Re: The Future of The Flume

As i've said previously in this forum, I think the Flume site is a bit of a wasted space for just a log flume, and the fact The Flume itself is just awful now, Alton Towers still need a Log Flume, so to expand on the Mutiny Bay pirate theme could have a family Rollercoaster (not powered, to bridge t...

Re: SW8

Personally I can see Alton towers waiting til 2017 for their next rollercoaster/SW, what with the somewhat disastrous opening of the smiler not opening til may and with its ongoing downtime, and how much investment was spent on such a big thrill ride which could carry Alton through an extra year, wh...

Re: Nemesis Inferno

I love the pre lift hill section through the volcano, just a shame the lights and more to the point the mist isn't always working. I love the blasting theme tune (probably my favourite one at thorpe, mainly because its so loud). It's one of those thrill rides that doesn't stand out to do anything sp...

I haven't seen that before... I just thought they would have to go to the other all year round mid way attractions with the vouchers, as that's what was initially said.

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

This is an interesting find on alton tower's facebook comments about the birthday vouchers... Sarah Taylor: My daughter and I have just brought merlin passes. In the packs are birthday passes to be used within so many days of our birthdays..our birthdays are both in January-can we just use them anyt...

Re: SW8

Well if this is somewhat true, then a nice new flat investment for next year, and dare we say the new secret weapon for 2016 (considering the smiler was announched winter the year and a half before) keeping in with the 3 year investment!? :D

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Oh right, well I didn't see any capsules at thorpe park today... Will have to get one when I go Alton towers next week. Do we know if these new smaller capsules are sealable as I bought a day one from Thorpe last summer and it was terrible, as the lid didn't seal properly and there was a hole on the...

Re: Alton Towers - Quick Questions

Thanks, that's great to hear, so it can be used in the new pizzeria in the hotel well then? :) also is there any discount for passholders in the Spa, as my mum would love to go when we're there for two nights next week, but it is rather pricey, discount would make it worth it guess? Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

Sonic is such a fun ride though... i'd be gutted if they got rid of it - as much as i love scary thrilling rides, Sonic and TH13TEEN (besides Nemesis which is just the best ride ever, full stop.) are probably my two favourite rides as they're so enjoyable!
