Re: Scarefest 2012: Quick Questions

What do alton towers mean by preview weekend for scarefest on 12th and 13th (this weekend) as i'm getting worried by the way they've worded it preview weekend, as if it's not going to be the same as the normal scarefest... any information would be appreciated. :)

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

i think we can pretty much presume it's not going to be the worlds steepest drop as there's nothing on the plans to show it, and it's quite unlikely that a drop can be made much steeper than some of the eurofighters out there already...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Alton Towers have posted another tweet in Twitter saying... 'Further details of the new #Scarefest maze now online: http://bit.ly/qu4KHP  #TheMinistryOfJoy #TheSanctuary Buy your tickets today!' So the maze looks like it's going to be called The Sanctuary, but what does The Ministry Of Joy ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Well it sounds like the new scarefest maze is going to be in the xsector (possibly) and themed around the new SW7 ride next year, as a build up to it.

Re: Thorpe Park 2013: Possible Ride Discussion

if they do have a 2013 swarm attraction i can see it being another temporary attraction to keep numbers up for another 2 years... before the 2015 coaster!

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Hex can be quite scary for younger children, even though it is a family ride... and like someone said the ride is a family drop coaster, was just marketed to be way too scary than what it is; would have fit perfectly with hex!

Re: THREE new woodies for the UK, one for Drayton Manor?

oh right just seems odd for them to close it down for currently no apparent reason... unless there was a problem with the ride. but i really do hope they do get a new ride for next year, and a thrill one at that... exactly what it needs to compete as a thrill theme park as well :)

Re: THREE new woodies for the UK, one for Drayton Manor?

Although there is a clear empty space next to the buffalo coaster with a mound of dirt for some reason... this could be the place of the ride, although they have closed that Excalibur water ride, for future developments meaning it could be situated there over the lake? :D

Re: THREE new woodies for the UK, one for Drayton Manor?

I am part of the RCCGB, and they DID talk wood at this years Loopathon. I can confirm that the park ARE considering a woodie in the future, and they did mention that they have been in touch with The Gravity Group and are looking very closely at the ride being built in Europa park. A woodie will NOT...

Re: SPOILERS - 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra...

http://rollercoasterxtreme.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/subterradrop.jpg this link shows a construction picture, and you can clearly see at the bottom there is a door/open gap, surely this means you exit from the bottom... i'm hoping it's as suggested that you board at the top, are lowered down...

Re: SPOILERS - 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra...

Due to what happens around the facility. 1.4m tend to be around 8 or so? They're old enough to be able to cope with and deal with what happens inside the facility. The smaller the height restriction, the younger audience would appear, and it would be inappropriate to have the youngens going through...

Re: SPOILERS - 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra...

let's get back to the ride itself... if it is meant to be just like extremis at london dungeons, can someone explain why the height restriction for extremis is 1.2m and the advertised height restriction for sub-terra is 1.4m?
