Re: Which Theme Do You Prefer?

Dark Forest but Ug Land is fluttery-excitement-nostalgic for me. More because I associate it with happy times:) Dark Forest's theme is much better thoguh

Re: SW7 Themed Rooms Discussion

It'd be good to have an intense and a mild room if there is to be two, so there's a choice for thrillseekers and families alike.

Re: Theme park clothing?

I bought a (child size as I am tiny) Th13teen hoodie one visit as I was absolutely freezing and foolishly thought I would wear it. As soon as I got home, I realised that as a relatively normal person I would never wear it in public! :p

Re: Work experience at Chessington WOA

I realise this is probably too late, but if you want to end up working in a theme park environment, any tourist attractions for work experience would be helpful as you're dealing with leisure and tourism there.

Re: SW7 Themed Rooms Discussion

I doubt they'd cost any more, it depends on what extras are included I guess

Re: Nemesis Sub Terra 2013

I doubt it, with the amounts spent on the tweaking of a few rides and SW7, they have alreadyd improved NST to an acceptable standard, so I would assume they'd see it as a waste of money

Re: Has anyone ever attempted to write a novel?

I have written a bit and I would say you need to know your characters inside out before you start. You will probably find that they choose their own path as you write. You mentioned you weren't much of a reader and I think you should change that - it should offer you at best inspiration, and at wors...

Re: Alton Towers 2013 Map

The current map is very muddled, beautiful as it is. I'm hoping for something clearer in 2013, not that I tend to use the maps as anything other than memorabilia!

Re: Prices now out for 2013 - Feb and halloween and fireworks 2013

I don't think it's stupid to pay the full amount. It's a treat for most families, a closer-to-home Disneyland jaunt. It's something special that is planned in advance and the children count down the days. All family outings like these get a little stressful and experiences are dampened but I don't t...

Re: November 25th 2012 : Residents to oppose Alton's Lodge Plans

ouch £30m. It's a lot of money, but the transport around there is dire at times. Unfortunately issues like this are unavoidable in rural areas! I personally feel that the road > the lodges, as less traffic congestion would lead to people being less likely to need a stop-over, but then that's less in...

Re: Public Transport to and from Alton Towers

Hello all. Long time reader, first time poster. In 2013 as part of a look into public transport in the UK. I will be spending 12 months without car or motorbike! I live near York, and work is fine with trains and things. Does anyone know if it is possable to visit Alton Towers just on public transp...

Re: Would Oblivion be the same without the underground section?

'Don't look down' would be redundant to all but those with a fear of heights if the underground section was omitted. It's the unknown darkness that makes it terrifying.

Re: Mutiny Bay: New Family Coaster Concept

I've been wondering, whats actually the point of a lift like that? I know its suppose to simulate being caught in a net but it just doesn't seem like it would be all that fun to experience. I think it's just good for theming, and something for kids to go on about to their mates. Just a bit more exc...

Re: Is closed season necessary?

If you disregard maintenance and work on the park, people get excited for the new season, they plan visits, and it makes it more exclusive because you can only visit at certain times in the year. It makes it a little more special for kids "ooh, you won't be able to come back until half term nex...

Re: 2012 Season - Your Verdict

Visited about 8 times this year I think. It has been one of my favourite seasons in a while - I don't know if this is because I've been with different people who hadn't been before, the weather, how quiet is has been at times, etc. It's my 2nd year of living in Manchester, so now I'm more settled an...

Re: 2012 fireworks

To be fair, if you were disappointed with Alton's fireworks, you're not going to be satisfied with any display. I honestly think that, at times, people expect a little too much from AT. Have you seen the shows they did between 1990 and 2006? I meant more in 2012, AT against other displays. Like for...
