Re: SEALIFE Centre for Barton Square, Trafford Centre

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I emailed Merlin about this a few weeks ago and was told the recruitment drive would start via Merlin's careers page in Spring 2013

Re: What direction should the music of Alton Towers go in

I don't like the idea of bands doing music for rides. I thought [email protected] doing The Swarm was so tacky. I'd rather have something memorable that fits the ride perfectly, like the Nemesis theme. I really would love more pieces like that, the current Towers Street music, etc. I want something magical that ...

Re: Random ideas

I imagine the main problem would be health and safety , but I would love to see it happen. I remember when I was about 10 or so and I had a strange fascination with IKEA because you could slide into the kids section!

Re: Developments afoot down on the Farm

I agree, I like the farmyard theming. Another IP wouldn't work as well as it would be too generational, and wouldn't be quite so timeless

Re: 2013 Scarefest

I think the whole zombies thing is a bit overdone. I would really like to see it replaced with something similar, but just with something other than zombies. Those scarecrow mutants as described from an Altonville Motel report (can't remember who, sorry!) could be an option?

Re: 2014 - 150 Lodge Resort Development

They had very similar looking pod things at the Caravan and Camping international show at the NEC. When we asked the exhibitor what their market was, they said they were selling to resorts. If we do see such spaces, I'll be very pleased as they as comfortable, dry, and still adventurous and exciting...

Re: 2012 fireworks

To be fair, if you were disappointed with Alton's fireworks, you're not going to be satisfied with any display. I honestly think that, at times, people expect a little too much from AT.

Re: Alternate/New backstorys for rides at Alton Towers

I had an idea for a reimagined Hex, sort of Alice in Wonderland-esque. It wouldn't be 'frightening', rather something sweet for younger children. The story would suggest that two young children were playing on Towers Street (similar to the Sub Terra advert), and decided to go and investigate the Tow...

Re: Is the Magic Back?

I tend to go about once a month (maybe more) during season and I really don't think the magic ever left, though of course it's subjective. Towers Street is always a little bit like Christmas morning for me.

Re: Alton Towers - without height restrictions

I'm really short and when I was younger it was so disappointing to miss out on rides that friends my age could go on because I wasn't tall enough, but it's definitely worth the trade off.

Re: Litterbugs

Slightly different in a McDonalds though, as there are staff paid to clean the tables. You would'nt pay for a meal in a restaurant then take the plates and cutlery back to the kitchen once you'd finished. There's a big difference between buying a meal at a fast food restaurant without cleaning up a...

Re: Is Rita worth it?

I really like Rita. It's not the best coaster, but I enjoy it. Fair enough, I think I may like it more with a little storyline, but it is a lot of fun. It's a good way to start the day as it really gets your adrenaline pumping and it can make for some hilarious photos. The very best I've had was wit...

If they really want to make money, charge for extra bacon. I would do almost anything for bacon.

I thought this was going to be about the huge duck in the Flume, and the first time you encounter it. I remember being absolutely terrified and screaming like nothing on earth haha!

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I wonder how they will incorporate the two rides. I think that come March, X Sector really will be as amazing as it can be. I think that, as The Sanctuary is a sort of old, closed down, abandoned facility, SW7 will be somewhat similar. Maybe some hazard tape, like you said, separating the ride from ...
