Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

You can enter the ruins either through where you exit the scare mazes near the smiler end or you can enter where you exit the Hex through the conservatory which is were you enter the santury scare maze or next to it which is where you normally enter for the TT scare maze. The Towers is surprisingly ...

Re: Ride pin badges

I personally don't like the new size but Jess loves them http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l161/royjess/3e0555ad-5ddb-4438-8981-ed4c14815c19_zpssvw9ffgp.jpg When I tried to purchase these on Sunday, with the exception of the Smiler badge, all the badges were available in the main shop near the turn ...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I personally think it's a combination of things. The hype will certainly have die down, plus the raise of entry cost, but also the staggered opening times (less ride time) have not only put people off traveling long distances to visit, but also every one is now force around the park on selected ride...

Re: Ride pin badges

My wife (Jess) and I haven't seen any new pins badges in the shop this year. Here is Jess's collection of pin badges. We are still missing Air (we've been keeping an eye out for one of these) and Cbeebies land one (staff only one). Jess was also lucky when a staff member gave her one the the staff h...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Yep, the ride times web site has been showing that all the rides are closed and have been all morning. Don't you think that they have taken these cuts too far today lol....

Apparently, Rita and 13 both opened at 11 today. Not great news. As a regular visitor I usually ride these two rides by 11.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Also according to today's ride times website, it seems like all the rides have opened by 11am.

Is this another shambles of a bad decision that ended up with back lash from the public leading to a quick U-turn?

I hope that they keep it like this, both on quieter days as well as busy days.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Well according to ride times both Rita and Th13teen were open prior to 11am. Rita at 10am and Th13teen at 10:30am when the automatic update occurred, may of even opened before this only going by what the website was showing. Looks a lot less busier on park than yesterday for sure. I can see that as...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Yesterday the staggered opening times was a complete joke certainly is not going to work during peak days. Also to top it off yesterday, Oblivion was only running loading up one car at a time. The queue hardly seem to move. To me it feels like Alton don't like the queue time being anything below 30m...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I was on park today. Arrived about 8am, I did see the TT group all meeting at the turn style before opening. I was queuing at the third annual pass gate (second in line just behind the wheelchair user) with my daughter. I should really post on here more and get to know you all better. I must say, ha...

Re: Fireworks 2014

Now if Alton Towers does decide to keep a water feature in its ultimate fireworks event then I think they should swap the hydro water screen for a jet screen fountain, it can be used for video projection like the hydro one but can also do synchronized things like this video below: https://www.youtu...

Re: Lowest capacity train

OK, not exactly rollercoasters, but I always ride the rapids and flume on my own due to the fact my wife can't ride these due to medical reasons.

I often hear the staff singing out loud "all by my self....I don't want to be, all by my self...." :lol

Re: Cbeebies Land VS Old Macdonald's Farmyard

Cbeebies land is great for business in the short term for Alton. But personally I preferred the old farm. Missing the animals, the farm appealed to all age groups. OK the farm was a little run down, but nothing that a lick of paint couldn't fix. The farm also had some character with the old tractors...

Re: Winter maintenance

I must have been some what closer to the screen than usual. No didn't notice the big leak in the duel toilets.. It was strange seeing the Flume lake empty of water though.  Now with so many trees taken down, now they can definitely save on lighting for the scarefest by using one flood light to ...

Re: Winter maintenance

I enjoyed a day on park yesterday and notice a few changes.  Some for the better and some for the worse! What I can see of the Cbbebies land, it's looking good and the standard is going to be high. The trees taken down around the flume and on the walk in between Duel and Nemisis makes the place...

Re: Stop feeling sick?

I'm probably too late to reply to this thread as you are probably already enjoying a nice day at the Towers.... but I'm sure that the advice that I'm about to give will be of help for the future. I myself suffer from motion sickness, but I am able to do all the rides now due to a combination of the ...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

I've got two quick questions about the new MAPS. 1.  On the MAP website it says that the Premium and VIP pass will have "Priority entry to all attractions".  I presume that all attractions will now have a separate queuing system for priority entry for the premium and VIP pass hol...
