Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It opened late and stopped running earlier for half hour plus its only running three trains. Factor in the nice weather and the fact it's a new ride. I can SE went the queus are big. But i also think they queue times are greatly exaggerated at the moment

Re: Matt Smith To Leave The Role Of The Doctor

I actually thought this was common knowledge? I was always aware he was regenerating in this coming crimbo episode? Was it not announced a while a go? or have I dreamed a coincidental situation?

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Good to see RCDB has updated their 'Record holders' page and made The Smiler officially the world's number one for inversions: http://rcdb.com/rhr.htm?m=4 It's been like that a while. I know this because I had a massive email argument with the guy that runs it. he has missed 'the' off of "The ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

As MAP holders, will they stop GP entering park / Smiler queue till 10am? Or is it only ERT that the GP miss out on ? If they are allowed to queue at 9 - what's the benefit of MAP/ERT ? Whining I know, but hey .... Erm ERT stands for ealy ride time. So the benefit is pretty obvious if you ask me. Y...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

To duel they both need to leave the lift hills at the same time. This was worked out by a video posted by a member on these forums.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'll be coming down and will be there for 1.38 precisely if all of my trains and buses make it on time! Looks like i'll be faced with a large queue... There will be a smiler at the end of the queue though. And have to Admit though. Surprised alton have opted for a 'soft' opening on a half termq dat...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I will be giving Alton a rest after I have ridden the smiler, I need to ride it for closure more than anything else! It does make sense to soft launch today as then they meet the may deadline and then can keep it closed again if they want! Good point about this not being intentional on Alton's part...

Re: Xbox One

Nope I don't care if its got a blu-ray drive or not. Sony pioneered the Blu-ray age, plus their console seems to be more powerful at the moment so I'm going PS4. And I don't like how Xbox are now forcing kinect on people when most really don't like it. Just like their new windows 8 metro system. Man...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

The staff have been saying this haven't they? I'm also saying that unicorns are real and if you pick your toe nails you turn into a toad. Get my point? We have had nothing official from AT. NOTHING. And leaving it this late for an announcement of the opening of its biggest ever coaster the next day...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Unless we've had a massive string of lies (which I seriously doubt) I see no reason to believe why the staff are wrong in saying the ride will open tomorrow. Really don't think they'd tell you if they weren't sure with all the madness we've already had. The staff have been saying this haven't they?...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

This won't open tomorrow. The fact there has been no announcement is what makes me think this. My bet would be Saturday.

Think we are missing a HUGE point here, did John Wardley and his family have hi-vis jackets and a hard hat on?

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Lets look at facts... 1) The permimeter fences are starting to come down 2) The park staff and telling us it's open tomorrow 3) The smiler name is on the queue times board, why if they're not opening it any time soon ? 4) No more work is going on now on site , builders are just standing round and c...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

So to verify there are no longer ANY fences surrounding the Smiler site? Except the actual ride perimeter fences and the little gate infront of the smiler entrance? So are people able to walk around down by the smiler shop/Blivvy exit tunnel? Or am i getting this wrong? And is the hard hat area noti...
