Re: Universal's Epic Universe

Looking closely at the park image they seem to have gone to great trouble to remove identifiable themeing. Super Mario Land is only obvious because the layout is known, the rest are more a process of elimination. Thoughts: ⋅  The duelling coaster appears to be single launch and given by th...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

I can see them trying to isolate the worlds but having turnstyles for each section seems like it'd be a poor decision.  It discourages crowds from spreading around the park evenly. Families where some want kids rides, some want white knuckle are less likely to split up so you'll get more boring wait...

Re: Kankaria Adventure Park

All those people climbing over the ride, pulling on people, ripping off restraints, I dread to think how many injuries they made worse... Hard to imagine this not being a maintenance issue, that sort of catastrophic failure should not be possible in normal conditions in a regularly inspected ride. T...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

'leaked' models showing off the new Nintendo land. Not impossible these are faked but someone put a huge amount of work into them. https://orlandoparkstop.com/news/ru mors/leaked-model-photos-show-off-s uper-nintendo-world-for-universal-p arks/ It looks absolutely incredible. A couple of thoughts: A...

Re: Paultons Park

Defintely got to get down to Paultons at some point. They've an impressive range of family coasters now and it's genuinely a day out for the whole family rather than a handle of rides to stop older family members getting too bored whilst younger kids are taken around Peppa Pig world. Wonder what dir...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

One of the things I've always liked about the proposed designs is the enclosed section.  One of the best things about the (otherwise pretty bad) Disney Studios Paris layout is the indoors entrance section. If they do something at immersive and atmospheric as that, but on a bigger scale, it'll be gre...

Re: SeaWorld San Antonio

It's utterly insane to me (in a good way) that you've wooden coasters tall enough to dominate the skyline, Pepsi Max style.

Re: Uzbekistan, Jizzakh, Istiqlol Amusement Park

That sort of thing could only happen if the ride was never ever inspected. You must have been able to audible hear signs of that steel failing and they just ignored it. I would say that I'm amazed ride manufacturers would even sell to these parks but then they probably bought it second hand and asse...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

Updated website https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D-Ez33SW4AAhYk5.jpg A teaser for the plans were dropped. Shows a few coaster squiggles, one of which I'm pretty sure is a Maurer Spike (weird choice based on how unreliable and apparently boring they are), plus I believe it will go here, based on the plan...

Re: Merlin General Discussion - New Owners agreed in £4.8bn deal

I'm pessimistic, the family only have motivation to make the Lego parks have maximum investment to help keep the prestige of Lego . Everything else? Maximum profit for minimal spending, there's no brand for the other Merlin parks whose image needs protecting. I don't actually mind theme parks wringi...

Re: Disneyland Resort

https://www.disneytouristblog.com/star-wars-land-crowd-predictions/ Been hearing lots of rumours from cast members but seems some news sites are picking up on it too: the reservation system has been dropped and it's ramping up for peak summer but the mega crowds everyone was expecting haven't happe...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

I still think having two multi-launch coasters next to each other is kinda weird, even if one's a family and one's an extreme white knuckle coaster. I suspect this is a coaster they're aiming to have built quickly in order to stop people delaying their holiday a year or two whilst Fantastic Worlds i...

Re: Paultons Park

Quiite like the look of that layout, more twisty and less dippy than either the Merlin spinners or the Wild Mouse styles. Should be a fun family coaster. Seemed very short though, wonder if they could do multiple laps.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Seems like an absolute winner from Universal based on the reviews which all seem glowing. Probably not too big of a shout to say this looks like being the best family coaster in the world. If Disney are to claim back the crown of best themed area, Rise of the Resistance will need to be something imm...

Re: When Is Immersive TOO Immersive?

I think an easy way of describing how I feel is that I want to be amazed by the sights and sounds, I don't want to roleplay. Wizarding World blew me away with it's theming and you can explore it as much as you like in your own way. If you want to interact more you can buy a wand and activate all the...

Re: Loggers Leap [Retired]

Delays in planning permission for a replacement? Surely whatever happens though, tearing it down has to happen so it's best to do it whilst they can still sell off bits of it rather than everything rusting, rotting and collapsing.

Re: Disneyland Resort

There are already news articles floating around saying how people are buying the stupidly expensive robes then being told they can't wear them in the park.  It seems like they were a bit selective about what they learnt from Universal's Harry Potter lands. I've seen a droid building video and that l...

Watercoaster seems the most obvious as it fills a gap in their catalogue.

A standing inverted swinging coaster would be neat though.

Re: Disneyland Resort

Reviews are floating around for smugglers run. General consensus is that the themeing and immersiveness is incredible but the ride itself is massively dependent on what role you get. You have a great time as one of the two pilots but as an engineer or gunner, you have a restricted view and have to c...
