Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Planning documents have been found for the Spider-man ride. https://twitter.com/OutsidEarsDLP/status/1125076149560803329 As the rumours suggested it's a shooter ride, disappointingly it's a basic Midway Mania clone spent entirely in front of screens. You can't help be disappointed that a major new r...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I feel they started with a good idea, to do it in a classical 1930's Hollywood font. Then the marketing execs stepped in and said they've got to highlight all the IPs are the park and someone spent an hour in photoshop.

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

You're hardly going to get the important international visitors for Coronation Street. That said, ITV Studios do have some nice IPs from their subsideries. Big Talk Productions are owned by ITV and are responsible for pretty much all of Edgar Wrights' output (Cornetto Trilogy, Baby Driver, Scott Pil...

Re: Disneyland Resort

I'm really hoping that this ride is something special. Especially as it replaced the Great Movie ride in Hollywood Studios.

Looks, great. Hopefully this will be part of a trend back to the use of physical props over screens.

Re: Brighton Pier

Fairly serious accident at the pier which probably does nothing to ease that bit of paranoia you get when watching flat rides. For an air ambulance to be called it was likely a fairly major injury. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-47857392   Not the first major incident on the pier. Hope...

They're going to embed a TV into the roofs, lowering the already low ceilings even further...

Don't envy whoever has to cut that grass with all the trees and rocks preventing you using a ride on mower.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

It's a pretty pathetic ride without the waterfalls. Usually you come off that ride laughing and pointing at the person who got the wettest. When I last went, the waterfalls weren't on and there was just an awkward silence between us after the ride.

Re: Creative Ideas For new AT Attractions

The rumoured Donkey Kong Mine Cart is meant to feature a fake track. The patent shows the ride car appears to be on a rail track when it's actually being held up by an out of view steel support connected to the actual base of the vehicle. The base rides along a real track whilst the riders can only ...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Interesting that none of the track layouts showed the spike. Guessing that's tied in with the mystery creature.

Makes you wonder what it is, can't remember many creatures from the books that didn't make it into the films. The Sphinx? Hagrid's brother?

Re: Room on the Broom - A Magical Journey

That's a pretty neat, creative attraction. One of the best non horror walk through attractions I've seen in a while Just kinda wish they'd either make some of the tasks work without the staff or have proper performers. Kills the atmosphere a bit having an immersive attraction narrated in rhyme and t...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

They're only opening the Millenium Falcon ride? The ride that is rumoured to have major capacity issues? The queues will be absolutely insane.  If the Slinky Dog coaster at Hollywood studios can reach 4 hours, what hope is there for this? I'm also worried as I'm going to California early december an...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Merlin's Parks are comparing fairly poorly, not just to cedar fair and six flags but to other parks in the UK now.  Look at Paultons Park, a recent highly themed themed area with two modern family coasters is now getting joined by another one bringing some big white knuckle flats and a good spinning...

It doesn't exactly bode well for them spending much money on it.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Universal have people earning 6 figure salaries to come up with their naming and that's the best they can do?  Nitpicking aside, great we've got a date and name at last. Universal don't get Disney levels of crowding but the queues are still going to be insane. Wonder how you're going to be held in o...

Re: Loggers Leap - Officially Retired

Really sad this is gone, it really was a classic log flume. Not sure why Merlin are so insistent on clearing out 'whole family' rides like this. It's increasingly difficult bringing family to theme parks because they get to the end of the day and realize they've only been on 3-4 different rides. Too...

Re: Flamingo Land Coast

Interesting. Doing some searching it seems like it was originally going to have a log flume ride, now it looks like it's a rollercoaster instead. Wonder what the indoor attractions will be (hopefully not just arcades, kids play area and an escape room). Wonder if they'll have an eye on expanding it ...

Even knowing it's from the film, that is just way too disturbing. Can't imagine how weirded out people who haven't seen the film will be.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

A million and one rumours floating around at the moment. Most concrete one is the Jurassic coaster  https://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201901/6554/ Multi-launch coaster seems certain. Guessing this is more white knuckle than a family coaster but it's still a weird choice having two multi-launch ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

It's a double whammy compared to fastpasses though.  You've paid for the slot AND if you miss it, you're probably not getting to experience it at all. It's just that little bit more anxiety compared to them.  Capacity is hard to judge. 25 at a time, maybe 6 minutes per scene including transferring ....
