Re: Whats your favorite Christmas movie?

Muppet's Christmas carol! I have to watch it on Christmas eve every year! other favourites include national lampoon's Christmas vacation and the santa clause.

Re: Alton Towers 2015 Season Memories

Well I visited AT for the first time in about 6 years in early September. The weather was great and the queues were pretty much non existent. My favourite memory of the day was going on thir13teen for the first time.. and then loving it so much I went on it 5 times in a row.

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

Wow, really? although this rumour is rather shocking it would not be that surprising if it does happen to be honest although for all 6 to be closed at once it would definitely not help matters in regards to the rebuilding process after the smiler incident. The flume: Noted in the LTDP that it would ...

Re: Planning Application for Enhancements to Air

Ew, Galactica sounds like something you would find at Blackpool pleasure beach and not very AT like. I know Air isn't that great of a name but it fits in with the theme and I have always loved the relaxing theme it had including the soundtrack. I for one am not liking the rumours flying about regard...

Re: Planning Application for Enhancements to Air

Air's current theme is so minimal that it doesn't matter so much that it doesn't really fit into forbidden valley's theme as a whole but if you change it too drastically then it will stand out like a sore thumb. I cannot see AT going with an IP at all, it would totally ruin the ride IMO. Even if you...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

There's gonna be a bunch of reporters telling their bosses they absolutely must go to Alton Towers tomorrow, for the story! Yup, definately for the story, and not cos they wanna spend the work day on rides :lol I laughed at that story a while ago about the park being deserted, I'm paraphrasing but ...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I wouldn't recommend spinball to anyone let alone someone scared of coasters. I went on it for the first time today and I can honestly say it is the worst coaster I have ever been on. I came off feeling like I had been in a boxing ring after being thrown against the restraint hurting my stomach and...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

There was more testing being done today! I spotted a couple of trains with what looked like dummies going round whilst I was on my way towards the dark forest first thing around 10. When I visited X sector in the afternoon there was nothing at all going on though. It appears that AT are doing all th...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

With all that has gone on recently in mind and now this statement from Nick we could see a reopening just around the corner! Regarding the ride opening perhaps having nothing to do with the ongoing investigation do you think this could mean that it has been proven that the incident was 100% human er...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Such sad news about Leah, my heart goes out to her and her family having to deal with such a terrible situation due to something that is supposed to bring joy. Whatever is deemed the outcome from the investigations the smiler will not get off lightly here. It might of done had the injuries been mino...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Such a terrible incident! my thoughts go out to all those that were involved and I hope for a speedy recovery! From what I have gathered from reading through the thread it would take a catastrophic failure of a ride system for this kind of occurrence to take place. Presuming that the ride car full o...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

In 2019 the current long term development plan will be coming to an end. The rides planned for removal before then are the blade which will be leaving soon, ripsaw (which will have to go before SW8 arrives) obviously they can't get rid of two flats at the same time so I can see at the least Ripsaw h...

Re: SW8

With hints that John Wardley is indeed fully behind SW8 can we somewhat say that the SW theme is continuing? If so, it would suggest that SW8 will feature a world first. What is there left to explore world first wise? I imagine it would be especially difficult to come up with one for a woody? The sm...

Re: SW8

This is such an exciting development! I love the prospect of a woodie (whether it be an original or hybrid) as I've never been on one myself and it would add something totally different to the current lineup of rides. Especially with the Smiler there is hardly any air time and we can't really say th...

Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

A Jack the ripper themed 'ride?' I sincerely hope not! Jack the ripper was an actual criminal and not a fictional character!! using a horrific crime as a basis for a theme park attraction or ride is just plain wrong.

Re: SW8

That's interesting! as mutiny bay had already been there for a good couple of years by that point so I don't see why it would be relating to that. I think the key thing here is that it mentions weapon, they knew that would get the enthusiasts talking and create hype within the community. I don't see...

Re: SW8

When exactly did the post appear near the flume? anyone have an accurate date? if it was close to when the plans for Mutiny Bay came out then we can almost 100% say that it was foretelling us of it's arrival but if it was, what exactly could you say 'the weapon' is? Anyone mention the word weapon to...

Re: SW8

I don't claim to know anything in depth about coasters, I am simply a lover of AT and even I think what you're saying sounds incredibly dubious. If you've got no proof to back up what you are claiming then don't bother saying anything at all, there's no point. All you end up doing is annoying and fr...
