Re: As an Alton Towers fanboy/fangirl, what comments hurt you the most

Oh, that reminds me... *glares at Jack*

I also reserve a special hatred for people who feel the need to write "TH13TEEN" whenever they reference the damn thing. Just stop.

Re: Quick Questions

You should be absolutely fine as far as getting on everything you want to is concerned. Re-rides are another matter. Those horror stories you hear of people only getting on 4 or 5 rides a day are generally terribly misconstrued or complete fiction. I've been in the middle of the summer holidays befo...

Re: Quick Questions

Tom's routine is pretty much spot on as far as getting on everything with minimal queuing and avoiding pointless zigzagging across the park is concerned, so I'd say stick relatively close to that, and you should be left with plenty of time to do the odd other ride and/or re-ride your favourites befo...

Re: The Attractions Questions Topic

As iBacon said, Oblivion has been generating some of the longest queues its had in the last decade this summer, exceeding 90 minutes on my most recent visit (80 minutes indicated). I haven't seen Enterprise operating since the Smiler opened, but Submission had a queue of 3 or 4 cycles earlier this m...

Re: Heide Park's new B&M Wing Coaster

I am shocked at the speed of this! I'll always stay loyal to gerst as my top ride manufacturer but B&M is a close second and some of their rides are the best! Without meaning to go too far off topic, can I just ask exactly why it is that you rank Gerstlauer above B&M? I'm not denying you yo...

Re: Six Flags 2014

^ The awkward moment when Six Flags' police car theming is about a billion times better than Saw's... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7f/Batman_The_Ride_at_Six_Flags_Great_America_5.jpg It even has a Mushroom Cloud Tours bus style smoke effect... Some of the time. ;)

Re: Six Flags 2014

Looks like someone at RMC's been using a particular new UK coaster's drops for inspiration: http://content.sixflags.com/comingin201 ... l-coaster/ ;)

Re: Flamingo Land VS Drayton Manor?

...While Drayton's rides are actually unique? ;) In all seriousness, I do have something of a soft spot for DMP. It gets a lot of hate from enthusiast circles, but I honestly find it offers a truly enjoyable day out. Just because its target audience doesn't quite match up to our demographic, doesn't...

Re: Is The Smiler as head banging as SAW: The Ride at Thorpe Park?

While both are pretty appalling, I'm going to have to go against the general consensus and say that while I don't necessarily find the Smiler rougher than Saw, I certainly find it infinitely more uncomfortable and less enjoyable to ride. As far as mechanical smoothness on the majority of the Smiler'...

Re: As an Alton Towers fanboy/fangirl, what comments hurt you the most

More of a general coaster thing: When people get confused between corkscrews and barrel rolls. Like seriously? It happens all the time on TV and stuff. One particular one which gets me is when somebody calls the last corkscrew on Nemesis a barrel roll, but even John Wardley has made that mistake! I...

For those who haven't seen them yet, these are the trains and restraints featured on Cinecitta World's new Intamin 10 inversion coaster: http://www.coasterfriends.de/forum/attachments/europa-news/203088d1374281264-2013-neuheit-cinecitta-world-neuer-freizeitpark-italien-img_0018.jpg http://www.coaste...

They aren't half pushing on with it now, and it looks stunning: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/files/217730d1377362910-2014-neuheit-b-m-wing-coaster-heide-park-p8240203_1_.jpg <3 It's great to see a truly unique, funky, terrain hugging, compact and ultimately inspired layout coming out of the ...

Re: Sky rollers

Top Gun was a problem-prone, unsighlty one-off Intamin contraption, and I always found it to be largely pointless. I did however really enjoy Nigloland's Gerst Sky Fly, and I adore the notion of one of these machines with lapbars, as recently opened at NU. <3
