The current statistics surprise me greatly... My vote was one gargantuan no.

In that case, I guess it's supposed to be Skatteøen. :)

Re: The Smiler

Nope. Just my opinion. One which I somehow knew I would be unable to communicate without provoking just such a reaction among you; hence my reluctance to say anything at all up until this point.

See the last line of my initial post. :)

Re: The Smiler

I think I've held my silence on the ride for long enough, and the time has come to break it... I think it's a truly appalling coaster. I think the ride and its accompanying facade are borderline repulsive aesthetically. I think the theme is, while not fundamentally bad, poorly executed and shallow. ...

Re: Hamburg Dom

The Hamburg Dom is one of many colossal German fairs. While I haven't attended the event specifically, I have had the pleasure of visiting many others, including my annual Oktoberfest trip. :)

The usual assortment of Mellors machines, plus other notable regulars (Danters' Air, Power Tower 2, etc). I'd expect to see Manning's Show Time Afterburner back, too. :)

I agree with all of you. air is the best flat ride i have ever seen. Anyone know where it is and when?

It tends to do a lot of the Northern fairs. The only times I've seen it down here are Winter Wonderland (it's a staple there) and the Bristol Balloon Fiesta.

Re: Your fave flat ride

Abie Danters' Air wins hands-down for me. I've always felt Zierer are onto a winner with the Starshapes (it's just a shame there's not more of them), and Danters' is generally operated brilliantly! (Once you get over the admission price, that is...) I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to being...

Thanks for your input, ponder! Your first point covers a great many factors that we're well aware of, and are always trying to build our moderating style around. Your second point is something I largely agree with. Our member base has changed drastically and very quickly over the last 14 months for ...

Re: The beast - camelot

Hi Combichrist, the ride's rcdb page, including a few photographs (minus the mountain facade), can be found here . The ride still operates under the name Morgawr at Cornwall's Creally Adventure Park. Hope that helps! :) The ride in its current incarnation: http://cache.rcdb.com/n7tdct7jb3mmo8qcg00qd...

I've ridden it a fair few times, what with living so close, and the height restriction is the standard 1.4m. :)

Re: I need Nemesis and The Smiler Experts!

Psychological, most coasters back when nemesis was built most of the time they were designed to put physical force, (nemesis 4.5 g's), on the body but ever since the era of Oblivion coasters have not only been focused around physical effects (the loops on the smiler), but on psychological effects li...

Re: Congo Waterfalls

That incident, or anything vaguely resembling it, has never occurred at Alton Towers. I believe you might be confusing it with one that did take place at Six Flags Over Texas in March 1999, in which the deflation of a Roaring Rapids boat's skirts resulted in it capsizing, subsequently resulting in t...
