Re: On-Ride Breakdown's Experience's

hmm, three that I can remember! #1 Stuck on the Air break run for about 5 minutes when something went wrong with a dispatch mechanism. (I think!) #2 Probably the scariest of the three, and it was only last year! I was on a travelling wild mouse (Mellor's?) at Bristol's "Funderworld" in mar...

The Roller Coaster Layout Game

A good way to fuse the competitive nature of this topic board with our theme park nerdism! :P It's simple really, just open up paint and draw a birds eye view of any coaster layout in the world! it can be as famous or as obscure as you like, whoever guesses the 1st one correctly can have the next go...

Who says we have to wait until SW8? We already know that SW7 has room for a potentially great indoor section! :P

That's what I meant, if I pull the restraint down to a "normal" level then i'm absolutely fine, it's only when I try to do what I do on Oblivion that it becomes uncomfortable! :)

Re: How tight do you like your restraint?

Depends on the ride for me! On Nemesis I prefer to have my restraint pulled down against my body (not so much that it becomes painful, just so that I feel secure) this is because of my height (or lack of it), i'm only 5'6 and i get bashed around quite easily. However on Oblivion I always try hard to...

Don't worry :P

I have a sneaking suspicion that they wouldn't have be rated very highly by other members anyway! :)

Re: Which Theme Was Your Favourite At The Park?

What about the kids areas? Cloud Cuckoo Land etc. :? In my opinion Storybook Land and Old MacDonald's Farmyard combined have the best (well, most at least) physical theming on park... However I still find it hard to vote for them as having the best theme overall, I'm torn between the sheer immersive...

Re: Future of the Dark Forest

For your information that ride is a KMG expirience, and as a matter of fact they are awesome! :D too low of a capacity for a theme park like alton though :( What ride are you on about that's made by KMG...? this one... Im sure someone has already mentioned a similar idea to this but... http://www.y...

Re: Future of the Dark Forest

I love flip flop and maelstrom! :) (although the latter is intamin) would a gyro swing be right for DF though? ...probably not :P i suppose you could theme it as some sort of machine which is being taken over by the forest (as seems to be the norm in that area), it could look great in amongst the t...

Re: Alton Towers needs to promote the gardens more?

I guess wristbands could be a good idea, but they could just cause a lot of hassle for the staff i.e. lost/damaged wristbands or people with fakes. I dont see what you mean about merlin losing money because they will still be making a small amount of money from the people not riding anything, bear ...

Re: Alton Towers needs to promote the gardens more?

i don't see why it would be too hard to implement? simply give every paying theme park guest a rides wristband :) the sad thing is, merlin would never be able to do this as they would lose an incomprehensible amount of income from guests who don't ride anything, who would naturally not pay full entr...

Re: Submission - does it still work?

they've already done some major major work on the power supply to the area in order to accommodate SW7...

if the lack of power theory is true then this might solve the problem :)
