Re: SW8

You expect AT to break that record? You expect a lot. Inverted stand up? Like, you are held in at the top with no chair and your entire body dangles down. My hands have gone numb from being at the computer so long. ](*,) I laughed out loud at the thought of that. Seriously though have you seen the ...

Hasn't he retired anyway? I'm sure he would appreciate being left alone really!

Re: Your World First Ideas

Maybe this belongs in a nemesis related thread but what about stand up trains on an invert or even an existing invert like nemesis? Would be two world first records on the same ride 20 years apart!

Re: SW8

Would it be ridiculous to suggest ripping down thirteen and putting in a proper ride? Perhaps get a little bit of that £15m back in scrap value. Yes it probably would be considering 13 always has decent length queues and is a popular ride. Whilst it was overhyped by AT it is a good family coaster a...

Re: The future of Nemesis.....

The only suitable replacement for nemesis would be a complete replica built by b&m themselves. And if they were to do that, they are more likely to just replace it piece by piece, making it officially the same ride, but different (so confusing!). Well it would essentially lengthen the lifespan ...

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

On the skyride (always very awkward!), somebody was telling their friend how Nemesis had Europe's first ever inversion (confusing an inversion with an inverted coaster), and how corkscrews obviously don't count. Of course, I stepped in to correct the error! Or since 1979 the pretty local Irn-Bru Re...

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

As per my comment in another topic it would be lovely to see older rides cleaned up and presented well before spending money on brand new rides and making the older rides even less desirable to ride.

Re: Thorpe Park - The Future

My first visit to thorpe park was in 2004 and Colossus was certainly something to look at. It was pleasing to the eye and pretty good to ride too. I went again in 2012 and the ride looks a complete state. I understand rides age but this just looks minging. The colour has faded and the track is stain...

Re: If You could bring back one past ride?

Pull thirteen down and get vekoma to strike up the MK1200 factory and churn out a modern day corkscrew. And just hope vekoma take some sort of part exchange for thirteen maybe recycle it or scrap metal.

Re: Ride you have queued up for the longest is?

2 hours for Rita, Scarefest 2012. The que time board stated 40 minutes, well done Towers ;) I was also in said queue at said event in 2012 and i share your pain. The ride suffered downtime during this and it was just horrible. The cattlepen queues are just beyond tolerance. At said event the thirte...

Nothing like a good vertical loop especially on an invert

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Heres a cringeworthy one... At scarefest 2012 me and a pal were queuing up for oblivion and we had the usual chavs behind us getting impatient with the queue times as you can imagine. We were stood just under the lift hill motor and one of them pointed up to the chain tensioner (the big blocks of me...

Re: No new rides for 2015?

I'd like to see airs track cleaned up a bit.

Next time your in the queue take a look at the track in the station. It's immaculate because it's under cover. It would be nice to see the rest of the track in this condition

Re: The Future of RITA..

Apart from launch cables snapping there hasn't really been many issues with this has there?

As for its existence the launch is exciting and Ok not as powerful as baco but it doesn't try to shake your spine to pieces either.

Layout could really do with an inversion adding to be honest.

Re: Next Major Coaster/Ride to leave the towers............... (Version 3.0)

Me too. The scum wipes off with a finger so it will shine up easily. The oil on the transfer track sections might be a bit more stubborn though. The quality of the track in the station really shows how glossy the ride once looked!
