Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Yeh working at AT I can say since the oblivion incident of the guy in the hole a lot of checks have been done on ride area fencing all over the resort, so my guess is that's why we have the 6ft high fence.

Re: Alton Towers PowerCut

A ride on any scale takes a hell of a lot of power! You would literally need a small power station to back up the park completely! As an alternative the back up power does allow the coaster to operate but only to get the trains/crafts/shuttles to places where they can be safely and quickly evacuated...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I live very close to AT and I have seen absolutely no sign of the lights :( I was really hoping for a nice lights show, somehow I have the feeling these lights have been hired for the press event in a couple of weeks time!! I know that the box has the date as tomorrow but you never know it could be...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I believe the decision to hold back on fast tracks is Incase the ride has issues in the opening month or so, it saves AT a lot of hassle re-embursing people. On another note what things have actually happened on site today?  :)

Re: Th13teen complaint

Air has a very complicated restraint system, having worked on this ride in the past I can confirm what the women said about certain seats being different to others. Having said that I've never seen somebody unable to get on it for just been tall. When I worked on it, it didn't have an upper height l...

Re: Rita Queen of Speed Problems?

Rita's cable snapped :( Its H&S request as when it snapped, it somehow managed to miss the GP under the ride. Personally, this leaves a dilemma as Rita's launch straight travels across the majority of the DF. Will this temp measure be a permanent fixture ? It managed to miss the GP because it h...

There is deffinetly no chain on that first lift hill yet, it just looks that way because of the adjustment studs on side of the sprocket :S

It makes the day more special when you get the slow Choo Choo on the RMT and then you get it on the Monorail on the way out.

Monorail and mine train are on the same team so it could well be the mine train ops on the monorail.

Re: Your favourite/best ride station

I have to say I love how air makes a song and dance out of every departure and so it should with such a brilliant/complicated method of dispatch, I find air is the easiest station just to stand in because I love watching the crafts as they assume the position. As for atmosphere I have to say I reall...

Re: Complaints about 2013 staff

Don't get me wrong I do agree the park is far from perfect, but some people seem to go out of their way to make problems. If you have had a bad experience you are more than welcome to make a complaint because after all how could we address it in future if we don't get feedback. As regards to how it'...

Re: Complaints about 2013 staff

I'm a staff member myself and I know so far this season we have had nothing but praise for my teams staff this season. The incident that nicolah described will be investigated fully if it has been reported to our guest services team, as for that particular ride I would be unsure how the incident oc...
