Re: 2013. How was your year?

2013 - otherwise known as the best year so far  At the start of the year, I would have never of thought I would meet such amazing people, visit such amazing places and have so much fun! Me and my friends seemed to get a lot closer, I started taking opportunities I probably wouldn't have b...

Re: The advantages and disadvantages of SW's

SW's- yes, they can be good. Publicity, drawing the crowds, creating and era of excitement and mystery. But for me, I just find them too gimmicky. The reason you ride a coaster shouldn't be because of it's 'worlds first' ranking or 'SW'. It should be because it genuinely looks good, intriguing, inte...

Re: What Are You Looking Forward To Most At Alton 2014

I'm looking forward to just being back at the towers. Walking around the park, hearing the music, seeing people having fun, riding the roller coasters I love, creating more memories and seeing all the ride ops looking as grumpy as ever! But most of all, i'm looking forward to eating wedges from the ...

Re: When people mention Alton Towers

-anecdote incoming- I was once having lunch in a pub with my parents last summer, the smiler had broke down (unsurprisingly) and I overheard this middle aged couple talking about it. At first I was very interested, but then I heard them getting all the facts wrong, saying it had 20 inversions and wa...

Re: Defunct coasters You've never ridden but would of like to.

I'd love to ride the roller coasters that were at the now non-existent and long forgot about American Adventure. This place is so close to where I live and I'll always have memories of visiting with my family, and seeing the coasters in all their glory. Sadly, being 6 years old and scared of my own ...

Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

So, are the animals from the farm - the donkeys, chickens, ducks and other animals of the sort definitely going? As I think they could make quite a nice addition to this 'sensory garden'. I know as a child I couldn't care less about a garden, but put some animals in there and I'd be there all day! :...

Re: What was your favourite moment of 2013?

There have been so so many amazing moments that I can't count - all made by the place, the people and the wonderful company I was in. I have to say, I really enjoyed the Summer Sizzler meet and think that has been a highlight of the year for me. Meeting so many new people who all love the same thing...

The Smiler opening day. 210 minutes so the sign said (which I queued on my own, may I add) but I didn't bother counting

Alton to Blythe Bridge during Scarefest

Hey, I'm planning a last minute trip to Alton tomorrow, and I'm really confused about the buses from Alton- Blythe Bridge at night. Alton have provided this timetable on their website http://www.altontowers.com/uploadedFiles/Page_Content/Events_and_Info/Useful_Information/summer-2013-timetable.pdf w...

Re: Scaremazing 2013 Reviews

Well, what a great day it was! Arriving in the morning, we met everyone in the group and it ran very smoothly getting into the park. The talks from Gerry and Pete were both very informative and answered a few questions I had asked myself about the scaremazes and park- the lighting being a big one. A...

Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

Has anyone here seen the video posted on facebook of 2 teenage lads smoking on oblivion? Not only is that disgusting, but a health and safety hazard too- and from what I understand they didn't even get thrown off park.

Re: Funfairs Or Theme parks?

I'm not really a funfair fan, yes they're fun and hey, candyfloss! But they are of no comparison to theme parks. You won't find any roller coasters like nemesis at a travelling fair!
Also, the possibility of being stabbed is more at a funfair than a theme park- especially when there are chavs galore.

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

Everyone deals with situations differently, so while some people might be okay with not knowing all about a person, others aren't. I understand your frustrations, when you share everything with a person and you give and give and give but they don't give anything back, and hide things from you, you c...

Re: Which Do You Prefer: Air or Th13teen?

I love Thirteen. It is one of my favorite rides on park! The drops at the start give so much airtime and just such a great buzz! I feel something on Thirteen that I don't feel on any of the other rides and I love it! And then it gets to the drop bit and, the feeling is brilliant as it rushes backwar...

Re: 32A bus timetable problems, for 3/9/13

The 32A timetable and buses are very temperamental, I speak from multiple experiences of missing the train and having to sit on the station platform for an hour until the next one. Not sure about this winter timetable malarkey, but I know the one that usually operates at 9.05 and then the same ...
