Re: Nemmy's 20th Birthday

I disagree Vlad... After riding her several times yesterday, I encountered no headbashing. The further you go back, the more force and slight roughness you are subjected too however she is smooth but still forcefull (which is a good thing)! The new trains wouldn't suit her. In my mind the current tr...

Re: Winter maintenance

I think Alton Towers have a big lightbulb budget for closed season this year, it's not just the enormously off putting black lights in Duel, most of the shops have had so many lights replaced that you can practically get a tan off them. Lets just hope they save a bit for some coloured bulbs at Scar...

Re: SW8

B&M have said on the past that they do have the technology to produce a launched coaster, they just need someone to buy one if I remember correctly from an IAAPA review the other year. The launched technology they have mixed with another coaster type such as the wing coaster could produce a very...

Re: Winter maintenance

Why on earth are they putting in so many power hungry halogen lights when LED technology has come so far and can produce the same light but with less than 10% the power consumption. ... I think they do use LED's when possible however using halogen light bulbs creates more of an atmosphere and aren'...

Re: Winter maintenance

Hi there, here are just a few things that I have noticed whilst on park today. X-Sector Lots of grinding noises coming from the smiler, a crane was situated around the bottom of the smiler for a couple of hours... It looks like it could be something to do with the smiler but it was too low to see so...

Re: SW8

It could be a sign of SW8, the ghost is quite perculiar but personally, i don'th think it is SW8. Usually when surveying the land for a new coaster, they spray dots on the ground to map it out and so, with the dots being on trees I think this just could be a big tree felling operation on park. As a ...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

I think merlin will have to look at rethinking the quencher situation... Within a day they have had more people voice their unhappiness of the situation than the amount of people that they have surveyed. They want to keep their customers happy for them to keep on buying and renewing the MAPs.

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

That news is a big sigh of relief for me! Well, not that they've made them smaller with the 75p per refil cost but that 2013 pass holders will be able to keep having the free refils with the new quenchers.

Re: Bad weather, snow, possible flooding at Alton Towers?

The majority of Alton Towers is very high above sea level however with the recent snow and rain, there could be problems in the valley or such places prone to flooding (The Smiler) and Nemesis' problematic rising waters.

Re: Best/Worst places to eat in Alton Towers?

This is what I think: Good Places -Explorer's Pizza and Pasta Always great, quick service and lovely food! The smell radiating from the place just says it all! Mmmmmm -Mexican Cantina Although the Fajitas are tasteless and pitiful, the wedges are to die for! - Towers' Family Restaurant, Towers Stree...
