Re: People Smoking Outside Of Designated Areas

I understand that smokers want to smoke but personally I think it's selfish of smokers to light up around people. I fake cough and make them feel really guilty. I don't see any reasonable explanation why smokers think they have any right to break a rule which Alton Towers have put in place. As for ...

Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

They have the right to remove people the same way as and shopkeeper has "the right to refuse services to anyone". They are pretty much backing smokers into a corner here and I do not agree with it one bit. These terms and conditions are on their website, your agreement to terms and conditi...

Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

I agree with the above poster. Smoking outside is NOT an issue - it is in fact UK law that smoking outside is permitted. However, smoking in a confined area (queue line) is 100% unacceptable. I am a smoker myself but I believe I am considerate to those around me (won't blow smoke at people, will hap...

Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain

I have had to change my plans. We are sue in Las Vegas on Monday 29th September 2014 and because MM only opens at weekends at that time of year I am pretty much resigned to not visiting. Has anyone done Universal in LA? or Knotts Berry Farm? I am trying to find the "next best thing" really!

Re: Colossus

I haven't used the word imaginative, I said more thought out. Im aware that she is a clone with an added extra. The point in trying to make, is that her execution of inversions is much better as a ride experience and in relation to themeing than The Smiler, who's inversions aren't very well calcula...

Re: Colossus

So you are saying a coaster that has been cloned http://rcdb.com/1145.htm is more imaginative than a complete custom layout? I think you need to revisit the term "imaginative". For theming, I will agree with you - Colossus is better themed than the Smiler and does interact with the terrain...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Kids are back to school, unis and colleges have started too.

Simply this is the quiestest time to visit.

We would have had these queue times on Tuesday had the schools in Staffordshire not been on strike - but even then we only queued for a maximum of 30 minutes!

Re: Colossus

The inversions are executed brilliantly, and have much more thought than a stalling Smiler at Alton. I'm sorry - but how can you possibly say that? How are 4 continuous barrel rolls more thought provoking than the smilers raondomness? Colossus was also a clone ride - just with an added corkscrew an...

Nemesis has the best roar out of any Merlin coaster. Anyone who says different needs to get their ears syringed.

Re: Colossus..

Rode it on Tuesday and I have never appreciated my spine so much. I am 6 foot, the seats are too low down which puts you in a weird position to start with. It needs some serious TLC and is rough as chips. New trains and a tidy up/repaint would do this wonders. Lets not all forget its 11 years old an...

Re: Merlin 2-Dayer

As promised - here is my review of my Merlin 2 dayer! Monday - Thorpe Park Queue times were at a minimum all day, with 15 minute queues for Colossus and Saw but pretty much everything else was walk on. Swarm was walk on for most of the day but we chose to queue for an extra 4 trains for the front ro...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Scrap that - sorry for the double post - but looks like my patientce to get Marmalized has paid off...

RideTimes saying majority of rides UNDER 15 minutes and Smiler is 15-30 minutes.

If those times stay constant until next Tuesday then I am a happy boy!

Merlin 2-Dayer

Hi All, My time has finally come to revisit Thorpe and Alton after a couple of years away. It will be my first time on Swarm at Thorpe and 13 and Smiler at AT. I shall be travelling from Portsmouth on Monday morning, straight to Thorpe for opening and then travel straight to Ashbourne (10 miles-ish ...

Re: iOS 7

This fanboyishness of either Android or Apple drives my teeth on edge. It's obvious Apple have incorporated the best bits of Android to their software, but Andriod aren't innocent in doing the reverse either. Having owned an Android phone before the Iphone 5, I've used both. As such, they both have...

Re: Any Zelda Fans Out There?

I remember back in 95/96 when it was Ocarina of Time on the N64 and Final Fantasy VII on the PS1. I bought the PS1 and my brother went for the N64. Needless to say, my brother ended up with a FFVII save along with myself as in my opinion it was a greater and more advanced game. I have since then pla...

Re: So... GTA

Sensationalist story indeed - it could have been a mugging on any other day and it wouldn't have had that PR. Interesting fact for you all: When the original PS1 GTA came out it received a rating and no PR, it simply wasn't shocking enough. Rockstar then added numerous bits and pieces into the game ...

Re: Thorpe Park Next Coaster

I am sure, 100% sure in fact, that the amount of comments are from the uneducated people. And regardless, what percentage of the general target audience for Thorpe made such a comment. I would image we are tlaking about 0.00001% of poeple. It doesn't matter if they're uneducated or not, they're sti...
