Re: Submission to be removed

I don't think enterprise will be leaving as well, as it has just recently had a refurbishment last year. Plus I think it is the more popular ride out of the two. On the other hand, if they both left it would leave quite a big area where a new flat ride could go. A big thrill ride could quite easily ...

Re: Strange Eating

Me and my friend are attempting to eat 100 bananas in 12 hours (or as many as possible!) in a couple of weeks. It is going to be very interesting!  8)

Re: What will The Smiler be like in 20 years?

While The Smiler has had a considerable amount of problems throughout 2013, it was no different to a lot of new roller coasters. With new technology and a complex track layout, the chances of something going wrong are reasonably high. Hopefully AT have ironed out these problems for 2014 and it will ...

Re: Submission Removal

I for one am glad that Submission will be leaving. I didn't have many rides on it but whenever I did they were always painful. Now X-Sector has renewed interest from The Smiler, hopefully we'll see a new flat ride coming to the park either in 2015 or 2016. I would really like to see a HUSS Giant Fri...

Re: What was your favourite moment of 2013?

I think for me the best moment was seeing the photos and videos from The Smilers opening day. The event was brilliantly covered by Towers Times and it was nice to see the public on the ride after months of agonising waiting and anticipation (and a lot of speculation  ). It made me all the...

Re: The Smiler

I have been on the smiler twice now, so I guess I can give it a justified review. First of all I think the ride is amazing, possibly in my top 3 all time rollercoasters (at the moment). The mixture of intensity, air time and inversions (lots of them ;)) makes the ride thrilling and fun. Both times I...

Re: Is The Smiler as head banging as SAW: The Ride at Thorpe Park?

I have been on Saw numerous times and never really found it rough at all. Some of the inversions are a bit uncomfortable but I wouldn't call it rough. Similarly, for me, I find the smiler extremely smooth. I have been on it twice now, once on the back row and once on the front row. Both times I have...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

Yeah, but with 13 they got told to put it post watershed after the ad board got loads of complaints, therefore they created an edited one.... Wasn't their plan It doesn't stop them making one though. After all this is designed to be a highly thrilling attraction aimed at young adults. A post waters...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

Maybe we will see a post watershed advert released after the ride has opened. This will give them freedom to maybe play a bit more on fear and create a more sinister advert 8) Nothing wrong with the advert they have at the moment though. It's fun, quirky and secretly sinister and it fits in well wit...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I agree that all the theming is brilliant, especially the marmaliser, which in my eyes is possibly one of the best theming element on a coaster in Europe :) I think the station looks great on the inside, but i think the outside just needs a big painted, yellow Smiler logo where the bare area of con...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

I guess this could be a clip from the potential pre show just after you enter the station building. Maybe the host is a member of staff with a big smile who leads you to the inside queuing area 8)

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

Is tonight's press event literally just for the press to ride the coaster and write a new report? Or are we expecting any more information to be released regarding the ride? If indeed there is anymore information to be announced. 8)

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I'm glad that's FINished ;) Right... I was wondering about the inside part of the queing system. I know at one point there was rumours of optical illusions around the walls. I think this would be pretty cool and would make the queue line more exciting. I also think there'll be a small pre-show just ...
