Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

News from the park! Our contacts on park have informed us of the reason for the delay. It turns out that the ride has indeed been signed off by Gerst, and there are no technical issues that we have been made aware of at this time. The reason for the delay, is that Towers are now still waiting on th...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Someone requested before, so here it is a splitscreen of what the coaster might look like once dueling, ive tried to get timing as perfect as possible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51IiqmZWvSY That was great! Can't wait to see the trains doing that for real (hopefully sooner, rather than later!).

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

It's the not knowing that's the worst. The Towers could very well send a message out in 5 minutes time telling us "The Smiler opens on Friday!", or they could tell us on Saturday it's not opening 'til June... Hell, only a few minutes ago on the TT Live updates, one of the workers said it's...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

i'm going tomorrow anyway, and am going again 26th june... but just out of interest, if the problem was sorted, do you reckon there could still be a possibility of it opening at some point tomorrow; with the announcement to cover themselves? I'd say it's very possible there could be soft openings l...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Just looking through AT's Twitter feed. Someone asked if it will be open on Friday, with AT responding by saying they cannot guarantee it will be open, but said nothing about it definitely being closed.

I guess we just play the waiting game.

http://s22.postimg.org/oc0jqcbht/Capture.jpg Wonder who Favorited that tweet :@ Monsters, that's who!  Anyway, I'm with those who think this isn't a major fault causing a delay - anything major (like that support) would have been clear to cause a delay long before today, and you can bet...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

Something I've just noticed... At approx. the 20 second mark, there's a shot of two trains racing past each other in opposite directions (one going into, and the other leaving, the Staffordshire Knot). I know we all expect it to be happening anyway, but given how surprisingly accurate the details in...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

I can't see this being the only advert for the smiler. We had all that expensive lighting a few weeks back, yes they made a YouTube video of the track with it. But they must of filmed it with the smiler in operation. I predict we will see some footage incorporated into an advert of some kind. I thi...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Finally, I hope everyone enjoys The Smiler when it opens in the very near future. Please don’t get in too much of a lather about “World’s Firsts” and “Secret Elements”.  They seem to be dominating your discussions, and really are not very important! You all know now what the ride does, and I’m...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Shoot me down if you want, but I have just had a long conversation with Theme Park Collective and they have revealed to me what this secret is about the facial recognition. "Scream if you wanna go faster" is literal on THE SMILER. If you smile, the ride responds by reducing the amount of ...
