An opportunity for Merlin to force you through a shop? I doubt they’d miss out on that one!

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

It seems the fence separating the Rapids exit and the newly opened path between MB and GW has been removed, opening up access to the area. Do you think this will stay as it is? I hope it does as it will improve guest flow if there are three access points to KC.  http://i63.tinypic.com/2qlg6tf.jpg Im...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Part of me thinks this was planned all along. Create attention by cutting the operating hours, receive complaints, and then make changes based on feedback. It gives them some publicity (albeit negative), and shows they they “listen to guest feedback”. The exact same thing happened last year...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Also, marketing for the Resort as a whole has been scarce since they revealed the operations changes. Now that they have backtracked, I expect they will resume Wicker Man advertising.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I’m officially done. This is beyond a joke. If I hadn’t booked already, I wouldn’t be bothering this year. RIP Alton Towers.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

weird movement for a light aircraft... unless they mean so light that its a drone... It will be from a light aircraft. The footage is from Attraction Images. They have access to a light aircraft. And if it were a drone, but they will have had all relevant permission from the CAA if they had used on...

Not going to lie, I'll take fire over VR any day ;)

That is true :D I just don’t have the faith in Merlin to maintain the effects properly though. I hope they prove me wrong. Other than that, I’m really looking forward to being chosen!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

"The world's first rollercoaster experience fusing wood and fire" I think this beats “World’s first rollercoaster fully dedicated to VR” for worst and most pathetic tag line.  Having said that, the promo shots do make the ride look amazing. I just wonder how many months it will be before ...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I visited this year in October during the week (a Friday I think) and all rides were walk on. The Big One has its back two carriages closed off with sand bags because there weren’t enough people queuing to fill the train. Also, the last week of April is usually quiet.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

The Structure looks more like a ram than a man  I'm wondering if The Wickerman was put out as a red herring? I will be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong if I am, but I really don’t think it will be called Wickerman. I know there have been so many “leaks” but I think they could indee...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I thought it was a bit early for testing! The last few pics we saw before the park closed showed no signs of the track being laid. I would guess it will take them at least 4-6 weeks to lay all the track down and secure it ready for initial testing! I don’t think we will see a coaster on the track u...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

We know something has been done with Sub Terra as we have heard things going on inside the ending early 2017 season, And the egg appearing in the SW videos. Plus it's still on the AT website. There was also some merch on sale in Towers Trading this season. I very much doubt this ride has been aband...

They will most likely be installing them at the block locations.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

It looks to be on the right which would mean views of Nemesis, Duel, the Mine Train and the Rapids (one side) will be restricted if this is the case.

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

I’m gonna order a copy when I get paid on Friday but I’ve been on to see how much it would be including shipping. I put my address in to do so and then I went to the payment screen so I just closed the tab on my iPad without putting any card details in yet 10 minutes later, I got a payment confirmat...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

If the trains were to have been delivered.. which way to Alton would you think would of been the route.. A50 to Uttoxeter and up through Alton.. or the back ways through Ashbourne.. I didn't want to say anything because I thought it wouldn't of been the trains, however on my way back home from work...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

I would imagine if the ride is done, the trains should be there either now or in the next week. The Smiler was really behind at this point, so I wouldn’t look at it as an accurate reflection on when SW8’s trains will be there! :) However, The Smiler’s trains were delivered and stored near the Skyri...

I wonder if the trains have been delivered then???

I'd imagine trains would be delivered some time in January, but we probably won't see them for a good while.

That would make sense. The Smiler’s trains were delivered in January I believe so SW8 will most likely follow suit.
