Re: Reserve N Ride

Hi. I am attending Thorpe Park Fright Nights on the 10th of October (Saturday). I have heard that Reserve and Ride could be in operation and I'm unsure on how it works. First of all I would like to ask if it is compulsory or if I would be able to queue in a standard manner? Also is Reserve and Ride ...

Re: Possible Dark Ride development?

I would like Cloud Cuckoo Land to be completely re-themed to fit a new dark ride in the area. I have a concept that I would like to share although this is purely for creative purposes. I am aware that it is unlikely that the resort would follow through with a development with the following theme. I ...

Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

I feel that the teasers so far have strongly hinted at a theme of psychology and brain patterns. The eye imagery and hints about codes and why our mind perceived things seems to all link to a psychological theme. I'm not sure if this will be carried through to the finished ride but that's how I perc...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

If Alton Towers are beginning to add things to the ride that have nothing to do with the actual ride system such as the new gates, I would presume that the park are prepping the Smiler for re-opening. We have seen the instillation of a new safety system(Batwing Control Box), testing of E-stop proced...

Re: Valravn - Cedar Point - 2016

I am sure this ride is going to be one of the best dive machines in the world in terms of experience and layout, however in the category of appearance and theming it is sub-standard. I completely understand that Cedar Point isn't interested in theming however the ride looks like it will just be plac...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Possibly the ride will be unable to be restarted after a stop without someone physically going to this box, visually checking the batwing is clear and resetting it. Problem with that is it doesn't solve the stalling problem itself, so I expect the ride to have more downtime than before as it will o...

Re: 2015 Scarefest

The teaser for Sub Species: The End Games has just been released on Facebook. This does look very promising for the new offering and certainly looks like it could be very extreme - potentially the most extreme of the three mazes. Can't wait to try it for myself :) You are on to a winner when you co...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I would be rather unhappy if they re-themed The Smiler i have always loved the Minister of Joy story line but if they did happen to re-theme the ride then what would they do with all the merchandise? They have already removed the merchandise from all retail outlets at the park. The park would make ...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I do not think the theme in general was particularly offensive and could be overlooked, but I think it is more appropriate to re-theme the ride. When a huge coaster that dominates a whole area gains a bad reputation, it is probably in a parks interest to blend it in more with the existing areas them...

Re: 2015 Scarefest

I like the graphics and posters for Scarefest this year. It seems that Alton Towers have struck the correct balance between Scares and magic for the 2015 Scarefest event.

Re: Fright Nights

Considering The Carnival Of Screams will not be returning to Scarefest, and Thorpe are going to need tents for the scare attractions this year (due to I'm a celebrity and the 2016 attractions construction); it seems logical to assume that the props and tent from Alton Towers/ Carnival Of Screams wil...

Re: 2015 Scarefest

Alton Towers posted this rather interesting thing on their Facebook page https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/11892232_10153427522736201_5438843646504139278_n.jpg?oh=a16d2b02cad192fa68dc7cd116e9b216&oe=567D49AD It has been reported that Urban Explorers have broken into the...

Re: Project 2017- Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I would not be as pleased to see an RMC conversion of an existing coaster at the park as opposed to a new steel coaster. I realise that RMC are creating amazing experiences and giving new life to classic attractions, however Blackpool Pleasure Beach relies too much on poor coasters and nostalgia. Th...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Queue Times are significantly higher now, which certainly shows more guests are returning to the park. It makes a change from the walk-on queues seen in the past few weeks at the park. Oblivion 10 mins Rita 20 mins Sonic Spinball 25 mins Th13teen 35 mins Air 40 mins Justin's House Pie-O-Matic Factor...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I have no idea when or if The Smiler will re-open, however the decision can not be made either way until HSE have deemed the ride to be safe and a full report detailing and explaining the incident is released. I am sure that Alton Towers will continue to deal with the situation as professionally and...

Re: New Glamp Site Proposed for Chessington

I'm sure the new accommodation will be a good investment and match the standards of other accommodation options at Chessington. Despite this I don't feel that the Theme Park has developed enough to justify a new accommodation site. Chessington's last major attraction was Zufari in 2013 and therefore...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

I used to really underrate Thorpe Park, however I feel that from 2012 onwards huge improvements were made and are continuing to be made to every aspect of the park. The Swarm was a great investment in my opinion as it filled a gap in the UK ride line-up and introduced large scale theming elements ba...

Re: Colossus

It is really refreshing to see a park re-painting a ride purely because they have recognised that it looks old and is not aesthetically pleasing. Usually we only see re-paints when a whole area is re-themed or a new ride is introduced to an area, such as Oblivion's repaint triggered by the arrival o...
