Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I think that is packaging plastic on the 'joint'. Anyway, I have just noticed this. One of the 'light sets' look very close to the track.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I don't know why everyone has been panicking that the ride will open late. with the pace of construction as it is it will definitely open for the 31st of may! why would they bother making 5/31/13 into smile on the actual 'the smiler' website. if you watch the animation for long enough its very clea...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Tbh, i dont think it will open on time. We are not seeing most of it being built. The only thing that looks like progress is the track, and as it is not going up at the moment, it looks like nothing is going on. Things are happening all of the time, and different things are going on. Such as the bu...

To be honest, I like Saw's trains better than the new Smiler ones. I agree with everyone else, surely it should look industrial, not TACKY!

I reckon this coaster will be 95% complete by the 16th of April, and will definitely be open for the first week in may holiday.

The theming and the buildings are quite a large part of the coaster. Maybe most of the track will be up by 16th April, but the theming and stuff will take longer.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

^Same. When AT anounced a Gersty would be making it, I wasn't best pleased. This, however, I wasn't expecting. This may be AT's most anticipated coaster since Oblivion, perhaps. The hype on this coast is unreal, I think everyone is glad this has come out, and I can't wait to ride it in July. SOMEON...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I dont really see AT combining 2 coasters at the smiler site but it could on less (cramped) rides. I don't think we will see AT combining 2 coasters anyway. If they want to make it effective, and some what cool, they would have to build both coasters at the same. They won't combine the smiler with ...

That I did not see. So at least we (I mainly mean myself, because I bet you guys have already noticed) know that the timelaspe 'speculation' is true. I am glad to hear it, cannot wait to watch the build from two angles.
