Re: Scarefest visit on the 18th!

How was it all together? Was it good or was the magic struggling?

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Any news on this yet?

Has it reopened?

I really hope it wasn't anything as serious as the track breaking.

Re: Future of the Monorail

I'm pretty pleased with the monorail alltogether. I think the music is awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAyDAmkeOyY it really suits the movement of the train...It kind of sounds like a train moving. :-k

Aliens and UFOs

So the ghost thread got me thinking; Has anyone ever seen a UFO? I did once...Well at the time it was unidentified- I saw this orange spot that moved slowly through the night sky. It was of course, a Chinese lantern. To me there is never smoke without fire, so with all the similar abduction cases wh...

Re: Ghosts- real, or not real?

This whole idea of energy is interesting. Ghosts seem to haunt places where there has been traumatic experiences and that energy from their trauma seems to cause a corrupted/broken area of the universe where the 2 dimensions are usually separate. I agree with you that its wrong to just assume a spir...

Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

I walked straight passed the area when I went the other weak. All I can say is; Ditching the perfectly good fibre glass squirrels (from the Squirrel Nutty ride) in favour of brightly coloured blobs, doesn't get me excited at all
Please tell me the rest of it is amazing.

Re: Is Alton Towers losing its Magic?

I've had a lot of time to think about this and I think for the most part, the magic exists partly in your head, partly in the visual stimuli of the park (things like design and places being clean and tidy) and partly in the human interactions you have with, such as the staff. I'm sorry if this offen...

Re: Congo River Rapids

I have to say, I did prefer the red boats, I wonder why they changed them.

For those who were talking about restraints a few pages back - You couldn't have restraints on this ride for health & safety reasons, like if the boat did capsize.

My worst "ride" was on some bumper cars at a local fair. I got slammed so hard, multiple times. I think I probably got whip lash from it. This kid really hit me hard. Couldn't understand the appeal personally. No thankyou. :dizzy:

Re: Ghosts- real, or not real?

lol Lucozade. Theres no smoke without fire, so either ghosts are real or there is something people are mistaking for ghosts. I spent my early life on Blue Bell Hill, in Maidstone which is famously haunted by the ghost of a bride to be (or so people say). I never saw her but lots of people have repor...

Re: Is the Dark Forest meant to look bad?

I think the music and colour palette makes the gloom of the area very real. The main colours are green and grey which are not the happiest colours in the world but the colours and the whole branding of the area relates well to and continues the story of Hex quite well. I've said it before but I thin...

Re: SW8

Most people think the flume site which is interesting, because while the flume has a biggish foot print, it snakes its way through the trees and part of it is over a lake so you wonder how they would go about these obstacles.

Re: Park tips and tricks

I always say this so sorry if its repetitive for some people but hang completely lose on Oblivion's drop, it feels great. Just like you were a rag-doll, let your arms and legs dangle infront of you. It doesn't feel like free fall unless you do it this way.
