Re: What Element of a ride do you like the most?

I like the tunnel part of oblivion. It turns it from a standard dive coaster into something more special. I also like the orange lights at the beginning of The Smiler and Th13teens drop track.

Re: Is there absolutly no way AT can bring back the Blackhol

I was amazed someone actually bought the old Black Hole track. Its pretty mediocre without the darkness, still I suppose you can have the same effect if you go on Rocket with a blind fold, lol.

Re: Ride you have queued up for the longest is?

Between 2 and 3 hours for the Haunted House when it was new. The queue came way out of the graveyard.

Re: Future Merchandise Ideas?

I had this idea once, maybe they could sell Michael Elay's (sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong) book about the Haunted House in the Haunted House shop. I'm not sure how fast it would leave the shelves because most people aren't enthusiasts like us lot but I can see a handful might sell over a lon...

Re: How old were you when...

I was also 7 and Corkscrew was one of the first rides I went on. On the same visit I also went on The Beast (Which no one ever mentions on here for some reason) and The Black hole, if my memory serves me correctly.

Improvements/General Trip Report

Credit to Alton Towers, all the big rides were in good, working order as usual. Of these, Oblivion was my first endevour. Not much to report here, got on very fast thanks to the single rider queue. I still recommend hanging lose and letting your limbs freely dangle for the drop. It makes it feel so ...

Your unofficial sound track to the rides of AT

I reckon the 'Requiem For a Dream' theme goes well with Nemesis.
What songs do you think compliment rides at AT?

Re: Dark ride ideas

although I don't personally route for a Dr Who themed ride (Unless it has the same creative design team as the current dr. who) I think some aspects of dr who are timeless due to the fact that dr is a time traveler e.g. so certain forces and enemies remain enemies. I think it could be good BUT the T...

What about projecting song lyrics onto walls

I was thinking that,
In a dark ride (mainly), you could project some rock lyrics onto the wall as the relevant song plays through. I thought this to be quite dramatic and cool :D

Now that John Wardley has retired....

He can use that status to ask for crazier, less blatant marketable ideas. I think he should and has done already a little bit by talking about Megaphobia. I hope he does talk about what he wants regardless of the cash it takes to move such a project along. Infact he should just do like me and blog a...

Re: Submission Replacement

whatever it is, is going to have the X-Sector/Smiler theme - I just hope they extend to the colour palette a bit because the rides posted are wildly colourful - so you have to think about how these might be gonna look in black and yellow.

Re: For those who loved the rock finale scene from Terror Tomb

Its pretty cool huh :D

1 of the final scenes of Terror Tomb was a bit like this in as much as you had a skeleton (which is really an animatronic robot)supposedly playing a metal song on his guitar. This scene also had some mummies that danced and organ pipes which stuck their tongue out lol.

For those who loved the rock finale scene from Terror Tomb

This is a band of robots called Z-machines performing one of their songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBIBf86DYLI One reason I'm posting this is because its cool, the 2nd reason is to show whats possible with animatronics..Or atleast whats possible in the short term. As many realise the problem w...
