Re: Quick Questions

Hi, I'm planning a trip over the summer holidays and was hoping for some advice on the best time to go. I know with schools being off the park will be busy, but I wanted to try and hit it on a relatively quiet day. I was looking at either Wednesday 14th, or Wednesday 22nd August (a few weeks into th...

Re: Game of Thrones - Discussion and Questions

Season 3 left a lot of questions - many of which will be answered quite early in Season 4. However, be warned, there will also be a whole load of new questions. There will be quite major power shifts in a lot of the main story arcs so be prepared. The books do go into a level of detail that the TV s...

Re: Game of Thrones - Discussion and Questions

Also, what's with Orrells strong hostility towards Jon? He always knew he was crow but when he was speaking to Ygritte about Jon and liking him less for what he really is, it seemed as if it had connotations of something beyond being a crow? Orrell and John are both what are called Wargs (People wh...

Re: Game of Thrones - Discussion and Questions

You have to remember that when men join the Night's Watch they take a vow to have no wives and father no children, so there is no way that John can take Ygritte back to Castle black and keep her. Also, although technically John has broken his vows by sleeping with Ygritte, he is acting under the ord...

Re: Single rider queue times

Posted by Kirsty25 in the general questions topic:
"if it is at the first corner queuing outside it is around 60- 90 mins single rider."

From reading other posts it seems to be around 15 mins first thing and generally around 40 mins.

Re: Are manners and common courtesy going down the drain?

I'll never forget one person who said are you accusing me of making this up in the most vicious snarl you have ever heard because she wanted a refund on a reduced cucumber... :O Surely she knew it wouldn't last as long if was reduced! I once had a lady have a go at me as I refused her a refund on a...

Re: Are manners and common courtesy going down the drain?

I've seen both sides of this. When I used to work in retail you really got to see the full scale of people - from those who appreciate the effort you go to to make sure they get the best experience possible, to those who think you are there as their own personal slave (I once had a customer click th...

How long is the smiler single rider queue on average?

Also How much are Smiler fastracks?

Never seen it below 90 minutes on ridetimes.co.uk, I believe it is often between 2-3 hours.

I believe fast-track tickets are £7 each for The Smiler

Re: Possible purchase for Merlin?

Would this mean Busch selling SeaWorld too? If it did would Merlin really be interested in the SeaWorld parks with them already owning the Sealife brand?

Re: Your worst theme park experience

I've not had a bad day in full.

worst moment would have to be getting stung on the leg by a hornet mid ride on Kumba in Busch Gardens. By the end of the ride my leg had swollen up pretty bad leading to me spending around and hour and a half in medical.

Warwick Castle - Do merlin really know what to do with it?

So, I've been thinking with Warwick Castle being my nearest Merlin attraction just how it fits in with Merlin's portfolio. It seems Merlin don't quite know what to do with it. They've tried imposing their existing brands onto it (dungeons), and introducing outside brands (Merlin dragon tower), which...

Re: User Names

Came up with mine in a bit of a random way really. Was sat trying to think of a username that wasn't too boring whilst listening to the Spamalot soundtrack. 'The song that goes like this' came on which is sung by The Lady of The Lake in the show, and as it's one of my favourite songs in musical thea...

Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Hi, Posted a few times already but just realised I haven't introduced myself here! I'm Kate, I've always loved coasters, but don't get to go to parks as often as I'd like. Hoping to get to Alton again this year - not been since 2011 - although not looking forward to the crowds as because I work in a...

Re: 20% discount in shops with merlin pass not always true!!!!

It'll depend on the deals they have with particular suppliers. As I mentioned before discount never used to be allowed on Cadburys, however it has been 4/5 years since I worked for Merlin so suppliers and rules may have changed. I'd advise either looking at the Ts&Cs of your pass, or asking a me...

Re: 20% discount in shops with merlin pass not always true!!!!

When I used to work for merlin there always used to be certain restrictions on the merlin pass discount - refillable drinks was one of them. If I remember right there used to be a lower discount on certain branded products such as Cadburys too - even staff weren't allowed discount on the Cadburys ch...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

They're releasing a limited number of Smiler FT per hour as far as I'm aware, he price is fluctuating between £6 and £10 through the day at the moment. What I'm trying to work out is how a fasttrack ticket can be different prices at different times through the day. Surely it should be one fixed pri...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

According to ride times the queue seems to have been quieter, stating 120 minutes most of the day. Maybe some of the hype is starting to die down.

Anyone able to confirm this?

So pretty decent if you catch it just right!

Thanks for the single rider info. Sounds like it's definitely worth using in the school summer hols when I go.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Current queue time for The Smiler = 210 minutes!
Kind of glad I postponed my trip until the school summer hols! I know it'll still be busy but hopefully it won't be that bad!

On the plus side the longest current queue for any other ride is only 40 mins.
