It's understandable, it's so outdated! Where's the VR?!

No thanks, Lighting Rod has enough downtime as it is! ;)

Technically it uses launch technology, so that could what it refers to. Check. This, in addition to the po...

Re: Drayton Manor

I totally agree. My worry was more about the PR side as opposed to the technical implications. As soon as any slight blame is put on Drayton (if it is, which it shouldn't be, if what we've heard so far is true), it's stories like these that will slaughter them. This comment got me thinking: It shoul...

Re: Drayton Manor

Here's something out of the Mail which could complicate things slightly. I'd much rather quote the Metro (which is where I read this earlier), but I can't find the online version of the report. Yesterday a mother told of how she warned Drayton Manor bosses about safety risks four years ago when her ...

Re: Slammer

http://imgur.com/IHUswld.jpg That's promising. I mean, that's what we got told with Submission, Ripsaw, Loggers ... (need I go on?), but it's something. Personally, I'm absolutely gutted to lose Slammer. Say what you like about its reliability, but I, as a local, was generally able to get a fair fe...

Re: Six Flags General Discussion

At their quarterly conference call on Wednesday, Six Flags made the potentially huge announcement that they're looking to buy out some US parks! Thanks to this (although I imagine this was in the works before the announcement), they have already acquired WaterWorld California , which is just 20 minu...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Just booked a 2 day trip to Thorpe Park on the 28th-29th of June (Wednesday-Thursday). Any idea on big the queues will be? These are two random weekdays outside of school holidays, although exams will have recently finished so expect a fair few people (me!) on-park celebrating. That said, queues sh...

Logger's Leap - area under development. Returning 2017 soon.
(The ride now appears to have been left rotting).

Slammer - Returning summer soon.

This said, we did have a scare back in 2012/13 where it went down for an entire year and then came back. Fingers crossed I guess.

Re: Knott's Berry Farm

I doubt that a major thrill coaster will replace Boomerang, its in quite a small area. The only possible thrill coaster I could see in its place would be a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter/Infinity Coaster or a Mack Big Dipper. I personally think a new flat ride will go in its place. As mentioned above, the...

Re: Knott's Berry Farm

So today is Boomerang's last day of operation. I doubt anyone is particularly gutted. :P I've been wondering what'll happen to the ride. Seeing as the only reason it's being removed is space, could it be relocated? I can see them shipping it somewhere like Valleyfair to make one of these parks look ...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

The park probably want to keep it as quiet as possible, hence the lack of legal action. It doesn't reflect well at all and will only encourage further idiots, who may not be so good at climbing and balancing ... One thing they can take from it is to step up their security of the premises as it was ...

Re: A trip to Disneyland Paris - March 2017

That was 20 minutes of time well spent! As someone who is yet to experience Disneyland Paris but is hoping to in the near(ish) future, I can safely say that I'll be bookmarking this report for when I get to the planning stages of my eventual trip. Informative, yet a really good read. I'm glad you en...

Re: Planning Summer Trips

For Tayto, be advised that the park only opens on weekends throughout September. The best time to visit would likely be June, as this is the only time in your mentioned months in which the park is open on weekdays, but the Irish school holidays aren't on. Visit on a weekday in June and the park will...

Re: PortAventura World

Nothing announced for 2017, but the 2016 dates were 24th September to 13th November (source, in French, bizarrely).

2015's dates were 26th September to 15th November (source).

Hopefully this gives you a rough idea.

Re: The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure - 2017

Rode it a couple of weeks ago now. Absolutely brilliant, the smell pods are particularly incredible. The effects of the scenes do get a little ruined when you're the only one in your boat and the boat behind catches up, but I guess I can't expect Merlin to fix my social life! :P It's not quite Disne...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

What on Earth do they mean by "a standard ticket only gets you 7 rides" and other such statements? Blatantly incorrect facts as usual, or just misrepresentation? In that example, I think it means 7 is the average number of rides guests can get on without purchasing fastrack. Thanks for cl...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

When respected organisations normalise poor grammar like that, it only helps spread the disease of chavness.

Interesting to see that the marketing technique virtually mirrors that of Air in 2001. I hope this doesn't mean there's no secret elements!

Re: Alton Towers: What Ever Happened to...?

Thunderlooper has changed hands several times. Indeed, Towers were the third park to have it.

It now resides as Katapul at Hopi Hari, Brazil. Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's is the same model, but not the exact same coaster.
