Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

I second that, Dan. :( I'm also really nervous at the moment because I have to perform a speech in English on Monday and stand on the table for it... I am a really really quiet/shy/awkward/whatever person (literally, if someone talks to me at school, I will probably not reply because that's easier t...

Re: Definative Smiler opinions

I think that The Smiler is a great addition to the park, and X Sector was the perfect place for it. It has injected some life into an area of the park which was becoming neglected, and has given the area a great theming opportunity. Ok, so the operating time of The Smiler last season was less than e...

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

Surely it's either a park or a resort? "Thorpe Park Resort" just sounds weird I agree. It's not as though it's 'Alton Towers Park Resort' or 'Chessington World of Adventures Park Resort' (although the Chessington one is long-winded enough as it is), so Thorpe Park Resort doesn't really ma...

Re: What ride would you like Thorpe Park to remove next?

In theory, that would be a great idea, although I have to agree with Dan in that there simply wouldn't be the space, as far as I can see. Depth Charge takes up very limited room, as it is literally just some slides with some steps leading up to it, whereas those suggestions seem like they would be q...

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

I think this can only have been within the last few hours, as I was on the website earlier today (about half past one), and I would have noticed if the name had changed while I was on there, unless I'm just very unobservant, of course.  It certainly has to do with the new on-site hotel l...

True, although a good day for lazy people like me who can't be bothered to climb up all those steps to get to the ride.

Re: What ride would you like Thorpe Park to remove next?

I voted Depth Charge, because to be honest, I don't see why it's even still there. It's essentially just a slide with water in it that you go down in an inflatable, which doesn't do anything for the park. It doesn't look at all attractive, and it's one of the first rides you can see after entering t...

Re: General Thorpe Park Discussion

I think Thorpe Park will do fine, to be honest. Lots of people do enjoy Angry Birds, and those who don't (myself included) would still be interested in visiting for all the other aspects of the park. I don't particularly prefer 'danger' themes, but I'm still a fan of Thorpe Park because they do, adm...

Re: The TTF Homework Help Page

Does anyone know anything about the geology of rocks? I need to write an essay for next week about how various rocks ie. chalk, limestone, sandstone, granite, basalt are formed and how to detect what rock type a rock is and I know literally nothing, lol. Don't give me all the answers obviously, but ...

Re: Fixing my rollercoaster phobia!

Good luck Dan! My brother (aged nine but still) is also terrified of coasters. However, the one coaster he has been on (other than the Runaway Train and Vampire at Chessington, although he vowed to never ride Vampire again after it momentarily broke down while we were at the top of the first lift hi...

Re: The ride you have queued up the longest for at Alton is???

I think it was Rita, at about forty five minutes, although I have only visited once. It would have certainly been longer if I had ridden The Smiler, but unfortunately it was closed when I went. :(

Re: Hunger Games theme park in the works?

I love The Hunger Games, but I personally can't see a whole theme park based around just this one franchise, as Danny has stated. There wouldn't be much room for expansion creatively because everything would have to keep to the same general theme. Realistically, I can't see this being followed throu...

In the queue for Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park:
Boy 1: I can't wait to go on Nemesis!
Boy 2: It's called The Inferno!
Boy 3: I thought we were going on Rita?

Looks much better than it used to, but with a smoke machine would be amazing.

Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

Inevitably, this happens, because not everyone is willing to follow the rules, unfortunately. Still, it's a lot worse at Thorpe Park- when I visited in August, I ended up with a smoker right in front of me and right behind me in the queue for Colossus, which wasn't exactly pleasant.

I like the tunnel at the beginning the best, too, with the smoke/mist and darkness, it sets a great tone for the ride. However, I also love the loop, but I always love loops, aha.

Re: Thorpe Park 2013 General Discussion

I visited yesterday and Samurai and Slammer were still closed (shame as I was planning riding Samurai as I haven't before). Loggers Leap closed around midday (my friend and I were just getting into our log for our ride when we were told to get out due to technical difficulties, which was annoying) a...
