Re: If You could bring back one past ride?

There's so many that I didn't get to ride that I would love to bring back! Black Hole, Corkscrew, Thunder Looper....

So currently the three with the highest votes stand as:

3. Oblivion
Poor Sonic Spinball. :3

Favourite Alton Towers coaster?

I know there's probably already a discussion on this, but I couldn't find it, so I decided I may as well ask again. I doubt anyone's going to be choosing RMT but you never know! :P Feel free to explain why in a reply. I haven't been on The Smiler, Sonic Spinball and Th13teen yet, but of the ones I h...

Re: The little things that make the magic

For me, it's when you first see the gates to the park, and that applies to any theme park. I remember being about seven years old and feeling so proud when I heard that adventurous Chessington theme music as I walked through the gates.  :) Also, it's so cool when you drive past the JCB factory ...

Re: Going it Alone

After the first time I've been on a ride, I'm fine with going on it alone (not counting Rita, I'm still terrified of that!), however, to be honest, I personally don't mind queuing for longer to be with friends/family. I find it a lot more fun to share the experience with others. Plus I find it kind ...

Re: Rameses' Revenge Incident

So according to the website, Rameses Revenge will not not be operating again until 2014. When I visited with friends last month, the ride was covered with what looked like scaffolding, although I only quickly passed it once or twice. I really hope that repairs are made to it so I won't break down so...

Re: Merlin Parks Quick Questions

Wondering how busy Thorpe Park will be on the weekend 21/22 September, and how many rides it will be possible to get on? I may be visiting with friends on one of those days and was hoping to find out how many rides we could go on. Also, I have a phobia of loud sudden noises, and things/people jumpin...

Re: The best merlin coaster

It was a close call between Oblivion and The Swarm, but in the end I went for Oblivion. I find the build up and tension great, and the videos in the queue line will forever creep me out! The feeling of being right on the edge, knowing you are just seconds away from a vertical drop, is so intense. Lo...

Re: Theme Park Dreams

Since going to Alton Towers at the end of July for an overnight, I have dreamt non-stop about theme parks and rollercoasters! The most recent being riding The Swarm (which was for some reason at Alton Towers near Saw The Ride) with my three friends, but the seats being inverted like on Air. We had t...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

Not really, I got stuck on the Skyline for ten minutes near Rita but that's just typical. I know this isn't Alton Towers related but I once got stuck at the top of the first lift hill for half an hour on Vampire at CWOA. Good times.

Re: What did you ride on your first visit?

I've only been to Towers once, earlier this summer, because it is so far away from me (yes I'm a newbie ), so hopefully I can remember what I went on: Oblivion Air Nemesis Ripsaw Air The Flume The Flume The Flume Runaway Mine Train Congo River Rapids Rita Oblivion The Flume Nemesis Yeah ...

Re: Air - A breath of fresh air. Review by Matt_

Air is a great ride. Unlike most rollercoasters, it doesn't aim to scare you,  which is what I find so refreshing about it. It's so different to how most other rollercoasters I have ridden are themed. The queue isn't too bad, as, for one thing, it isn't a cattlepen :P and another, you can clear...

Re: Oblivion

Although I have only been to Alton Towers once, earlier this summer, I can already easily say that I believe that this is the best coaster in the park, even though the ride's duration is only about a minute. As soon as I got off the monorail, I ran straight to X Sector to ride the Smiler, however, i...
