Re: Alton Towers ownership future

TBH I'd rather see Merlin try harder with their parks. They seem to focus more on their midway attractions. They need someone who is passionate about their parks and who improved them for the better. Yes the big coasters do increase park attendance but only for a few years. What you need is a high q...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

My problem is that for me to earn money you need to spend money. It's what a country needs to do to get out of a recession and it's what Alton Towers needs to do now. What they should have done is go for an almost relaunch where they improved their existing rides and added some new ones. A couple of...

Re: Alton Towers ownership future

I agree about Altons coasters. Theirs are designed around worlds first which cost a lot and then the ride suffers. I would like Alton towers to be sold on TBH. Or Merlin to be taken over by someone who values flats and supporting rides preferably.

Re: February Half Term 2016

To me I could see why it wouldn't run this year. I would sacrifice this one event if it meant that there would be more time to get the park up and running at a high standard for the main season where most of the profits would come from. Plus with visitor numbers down they might want to make sure tha...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

It's a shame because I understand what you mean. Alton Towers theme park is beginning to feel less like a theme park with the lack of investment in rides other the coasters. It is beginning to feel like it's just their coasters. I'd happily sacrifice the next coaster to improve the supporting rides....

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The Mirror have released an article about the six rides being shut and relating it to the human error in the smiler incident. Could this in anyway influence Alton towers to keep them open

Re: SW8

I personally think a new family ride would be a good idea. Although a thrill ride would be better for me, I think a family coaster would be more beneficial for the park at the moment. Something like 13 that's suitable for all. A new Mutiny Bay coaster would be easy to theme however I do like the ide...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

I agree that this will be a massive shame and will put guests off however if the smiler reopens. It could easily be another dead season where the lack of these rides won't affect the queues too much. This to me definitely seems like a good opportunity for doing the rides up. Retheming or replacing a...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I know how ridiculous this woman is being given that I push my chest out to give me some wiggle room. And although I'm sure she's is exaggerating it, I do think that after the smiler incident, staff should have handled it better, especially with Alton Towers knowing how something tiny can be easily ...

Re: How much longer will Hex last?

I love hex. But I can see why some people find it an anti climax. When it is time for hex to go. I hope it keeps its theme. So just remove the madhouse with a new ride and keep all the build up changing the story slightly to match the new ride that will eventually replace it. It's theme is what I lo...

Re: Planning Application for Enhancements to Air

On a positive note. If it does get huge queues then when the Smiler does reopen. It should have smaller queues giving me the opportunity to make up for lost time. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Planning Application for Enhancements to Air

Or as Alton will see it. Think of the money from headsets AND fast tracks. After the Smiler incident. Money will be high up on priority list for next year goals. Think about it. VR on air equals 1) a UK first to draw in guests increasing ticket sales and profits. 2) rental of the headsets ( if this ...

Re: New Theme Park attraction(s) for 2016?

I don't want a skyfly but maybe that's just because I couldn't get Skyforce to turn. It was fun trying and failing but would get very boring after a while.

Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

I have to admit. I'm not as excited for this ride as I was. Will deffo give it a try but it's not really my thing. Hopefully I will enjoy it and it will be better than I expect but I'm not really into magicians and illusions etc.

Re: Planning Application for Enhancements to Air

Space seems too different of a theme which is why I think it's just referring to watch this space. Also. Couldn't it still be renamed. They wouldn't want to give away the new name by putting it in the logo title. I hope it is VR. It's something different and new for the UK and breaths life into an o...

Re: The Future Of Scarefest

I actually liked the scare zones and like roaming actors. For me next year, More mazes would be added as £20 for three is expensive when Thorpe Park had 5 included in a entry fee that was still cheaper than Alton Towers (with the mazes added) and also Scare Kingdom has 7 mazes for only £15. Add an o...

Re: 2015 Scarefest

I did scarefest yesterday. It was brilliant. Didn't do any mazes as I thought they are too expensive. The scare zones were really good. I did see one of the actors get told off tho for scaring a really small child. First time doing nemesis in the dark and it was amazing! Highlight of the night. Saw ...

Re: Samurai

It opened at 3 today. It did have consistently longish queues throughout its opening. I didn't see any coaster reach an hour and Samurai was getting longer queues than both Colossus and Stealth. The shortest I saw the queue was 15 minutes (one of the longer queue times of the day) Sent from my iPhon...

***So as this park is literally going to be like three posts. I'm going to put it here instead of giving it it's own topic. I won't be expanding on the park again in the future or anything*** Hi guys. I've noticed that there is a new scare attraction for Halloween this year. Similar to scare kingdom...
