Re: Alton Towers Hotel Refurbishment

realistically, who is gunna jump out of a 3rd floor window ( first two floors maybe but not 3 floors up), I'd rather run for the nearest fire exit. Falling 3 floors would do some painful damage. I also expect that their fire protection system will be the best of the best so if it cant be stopped, it...

Re: Submission Replacement

yeah but how is being dropped into eternal darkness supposed to make you smile? That's my point, being a way of disposing those who haven't been corrected properly would make more sense, also if they covered up the track behind enterprise and submission it would look like they have been "destr...

Re: The ride you have queued up the longest for at Alton is???

Yeah its not so bad any more, i know my way through it quite well and there's certain things along the queue which i recognize and can work out how longs left, but for first time riders who don't know the queue line, its quite confusing. I remember the first time i queued, i though we were near the ...

Re: The ride you have queued up the longest for at Alton is???

3 1/2 hours for 13. Got in an hour early and went straight for the queue, so queued an hour then when the park opened 13 was having technical difficulties so queued another 30 mins (in which AT staff had said "oh it'll be about 10 mins more" twice) after the half an hour they said "do...

Re: Submission Replacement

I think they should construct an indoor maze like The Sanctuary on the site and put new flats elsewhere (Dark Forest). The indoor maze could either be the introduction to Ministry of Joy getting you ready for The Smiler. Or it could be a test after The Smiler to make sure you have been corrected pro...

Re: Submission to be removed

I have to admit it sounds weird 'Submission used to be located in X-Sector'. Not that I'll miss it terribly (It's sad when any ride leaves really, except one or two). It was painful!!! It would be brill if in the space between Feb half term and opening day a new flat was quickly constructed but as t...

Re: If you owned the Alton Towers Resort, what would you do with it?

Phase 1, 2015- Alter the park, keep all current rides - This would include the introduction of a teen price (12-16) and change the family ticket to allow teens eg a 5 family ticket would have max 2 adults then 3 child/teen. - A general tidy up, basic maintenance - Sub-Terra becomes part of the Nemes...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I think Sub-Terra should just be incorporated into the Nemesis queue line to make one long experience and ends with an amazing roller coaster. Sub-Terra would be purely to A) break up the waiting in the queue line and B) make the build up to the roller coaster amazing. The babies hatch and have some...

Re: What type of major flat would you like to see next?

I would like to see these additions Mutiny Bay - Huss Breakdancer 4 Adventure Land - S&S Jungle Swing (different theme), childrens version of Rush Forbidden Valley (Ripsaw site) - Zamperla Super Spin Forbidden Valley (Blade site) - Zamperla Mini/Midi Discovery (depending on height restrictions) ...

Re: Future of the Dark Forest

I'm sorry but Rita could get a bit more theming that's inexpensive. More branches round supports and stuff, a cheap new entrance (as the tire really doesn't work for me) and place back story stuff (videos, voice recordings or just text) along the queue line to A) make Rita fit and B) give riders som...

Whoa, stop the bus! B&Ms are never, ever rough. I believe in an interview, John Wardley said that our grand kids will be able to ride nemesis. So it's not going anywhere!

Last time I went on Nemmy, it was a bit head bangy, so it will only get worse.

Re: The best UK theme park

Yeah AT is the best Themed and will always have a special place in my theme park section of my heart but Thorpe park is my fave as it has the best rides. I dont get the same feeling for lack of better word at TP that I do get at AT

I agree Nemmy was a bit head bangy and could do with a lick of paint. They could have at least given her new seats and restraints for her 20th b-day

Re: SW8

Do you think they should build the Runaway train bigger and faster they could use the old Duel queue line and build a mine here to travel in. The only thrilling part is the tunnel. I personally don't think so, just because there is a lot for thrill seekers and not as much for children. If the visit...

Re: The Runaway Mine Train

is probably the only area left that holds the old magic :) I have to admit, I do love walking through KC on my way to FV, AT wouldn't be the same with out it. I purposely don't take the short cut so that I can walk through KC. I would like to see RMT replaced with a newer model and a slightly diffe...

Re: When do you think rides will go?

People are talking about Merlins low budgetbut by the time the smiler is needing expensive repair, AT could be under new mangement with a bigger budget. I think the biggest factor will be paramout park, it doesn't (yet) have any restrictions so will be able to go bigger and better than AT: Spinball ...

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

I personally love Sonic. Its great for families and Alton needs a spinning coaster. I think it should be re-themed and have an amazing story behind it. Keep it where it is and re-theme Adventure land to match the coaster. Add a flat like Kobra at Chessington, but only half of it. The whole area shou...

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think there aren't many 1.3m coasters out there. It seems to always jump from 1.2 to 1.4 for some reason

Yeah thats what I mean, it just jumps and completely misses it out, I remember being 1.3 and I hated it, longing to go on the big rides and bored of the rest.

Re: SW8

I also think they need more rides with height restrictions of 1.3m. Actually, quite a lot of alton towers rides are at 1.2m or lower and are suitable for the age group you mentioned, for example: Thirteen Sonic Spinball Submission Enterprise The Blade Plus more Personally, I don't see the point in ...
