Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

The Lego rumour has been knocking about for a few years now and I always thought it was a bit far-fetched, but with the recently announced waterpark over at Gardaland, it seems it could hold some weight. I dunno though, it just doesn't seem right for Alton Towers. Unfortunately we wouldn't see a fam...

Re: Fright Nights

It seems Saw: Alive may not be returning, thanks to this post on Instagram, which shows the logo on the side of the boat being painted over.

Re: Paultons Park

Yeah, this investment sure looks great! With the concept art finally being revealed, it looks to be a clone of Sierra Sidewinder. Based on my impressions of Dwervelwind, this ride will certainly bite quite a bit more than it appears. Also, on a naive, speculative note- that looks to be a nice little...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

With the introduction of the new Legoland VIP Pass (offering similar benefits to the now extinct VIP MAP), could we be seeing more individual park VIP Passes?

Re: Which winter theme park

I've not done any of them at Winter so based off my experiences in the Spring/Summer, I'd say Efteling. It's a very "magical" and beautiful park as it is, and it looks even more stunning during their Winter event. Also it seems that most, if not all of their rides (bar watery ones) are ope...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

Whilst I'm not disagreeing with the CCL redevelopment idea (it makes a lot of sense), it could be a point that with House of Monsters being the same style of attraction as The Dungeon, the decision might've been made to axe it so that area wasn't overflowing with Dungeonesque attractions.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

So, surprise Scarefest announcement! Earlier than the past two years which is always welcome. To recap the headlines: -Project 42, Sub Species: The End Games, and Altonville Mine Tours are returning; all included in the combi ticket previously offered. -The Welcoming and House of Monsters are both b...

Re: Heritage

Thanks Tom! We had a spare hour before dinner a few weeks back so we went to go see it. Next stop is the old Station, although we didn't get that far as we didn't want to get run over :lol

Re: SP Southern Screamer 2019 - Reviews & Feedback

Should be no surprise to anyone that this event was just as fantastic as the others! Inferno ERT was really something special with it being a whole hour, even if we did almost kill a pigeon in the process :lol The general takeovers were fun, with a special mention to the Dodgems and the Kiddie Ride ...

King Ina's Rock "The Golden Gates lead from the gardens into the Rock Walk, which winds on the face of the cliffs for more than a mile, through the plantations to a huge projecting rock, called Ina's Rock, in memory of the Saxon King, who held his parliament under it after his victory, mention...

Bit of a silly one but what's the deal with bags on Bouncezilla? Just thinking I'll be needing my water bottle throughout :lol

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

It'd be nice to see a "soft retheme" if that makes sense- a general fix up with a few minor changes. Mostly just redoing ALL the lighting, speaker set-up, and refurbishing the transit system- maybe ditch the guns too. Just keep the lovely music please! If Duel was tampered with and fixed, ...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

Had a ride yesterday and it was probably the worst I've had on it! Reliability with the entire system was what was missing. The attraction opened about an hour later than scheduled, and that showed inside. First little issue was the lack of fog in the preshow- there was a teeny  little trickle, but ...

Re: Heritage

Believe the bit you're on about is the Ice House? Haven't been in there yet- first time there was some weird smoke coming out from it so we'd thought we'd leave whoever was there to their own buisness; went a few weeks back to see it boarded up! My Favourite bit? Probably the little bank in front of...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion

A Launched Spinner from Mack would not only replace Rita, but Spinball as well, opening the Spinball site as potential expansion for CBeebies- or even better, a little flume. That'd accomodate a wide group of people whilst maintaning a high capacity.

Heritage

Surprised that there isn't already a topic for this! (Unless it somehow didn't get spotted). There's no doubt that The Towers Ruins, Gardens and Estate is incredibly important to Alton Towers, but it is often overlooked by many guests and sometimes even the community. The Estate may be beyond it's p...

Re: Future Plans for the Towers themselves

This is arguably the best news from Towers in a long time! It's always great to see the underlooked Heritage side of the site looked after, especially this particular window given it's attempt to be restored about a decade back. Really hope this is a sign of things to come- although, on a random spo...
