Planning: Sweden 2019

Hey all, For this years big trip I'm looking into spending a few days of May in Sweden, starting at Gröna Lund, nipping into Kolmården and a weekend at Liseberg. I've never done any of these parks so I'm seeking all sorts of advice- tips, queue patterns, food etc. I will admit I'm a bit hesitant abo...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

I don't expect any major changes to come to the ride any more, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were further cuts, especially to the remaining actors in there.
It's a shame that the ride just doesn't work, from a hardware or narrative perspective.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

The scene's generally stayed the same in the past, with some minor changes (and a big one being the location change in 2015). You'd start off with a short video giving the story about two explorers who mysteriously vanished inside the ruins, with a really good jump from an air-cannon towards the...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

No other ride in the country comes close to Nemesis for me. The terrain interaction, the insane intensity... It's such a great ride and after all these years its still in my Top 5 Coasters. However... I do agree that it can be a bit too intense! After about three back to back rides I need a good sit...

Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

Thirteen's an odd case- as the years go by the general opinion of it gets more positive, but I can't help but enjoy it less and less as the years go on. Ok, the first thing is the queue. I won't go on about cattlepens for too long as that's a common pet peeve, but that doesn't really build any tensi...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Once again it's incredibly early to be thinking about this sort of thing, but here's what I hope/think we'll see at next years Scarefest. As mentioned at the Scaremazing Q&A, it's pretty much a given that we'll be seeing some sort of new scare zone format and roaming enterta...

Surprised that this hasn't been posted here already... https://i.imgur.com/re3kRrm.jpg Are you ready for the latest news coming from Rookburgh that will launch the meaning of an “overall experience” into a new dimension? There awaits an enigmatic interplay between a themed world with a steampunk fla...

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park London

I visited London a few weeks ago and spent a good hour or so here and had a good time. Our first stop was Wilde Maus XXL and I can honestly say this is one of those coasters that's just oodles of fun to be on. The queue is a really great distraction that got us all excited to ride, and the coaster w...

Re: Your 2018 Theme Park Goals

Well 2018 is virtually over and for most of us we'll have finished off our trips for the year. So, with that in mind it's time to see what goals we've met! -Explore as much of the Gardens and Towers ruins as possible (partially done- I think I did what was open of the ruins but there are so many...

Re: Tayto Park

Here's a thought- remember the Xtreme Spinner concept from Mack with the two different trains (one spinning and one normal)? It fits with the idea of "two separate rollercoaster rides" with a seemingly short track length. Of course, the height and length might be off, but it's just an idea...

I'm surprised this hasn't been done sooner but this is a great move. I haven't used the car park in ages but it's an absolute nightmare for anyone if there's even a single mililitre of water involved.

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Heard a funny little chat in the Galactica queue on Sunday evening.

Dad: "She doesn't want to do Nemesis, it looks too fast"
Mum: "It's just like Mine Train but with loops"

It's the awkward bit between our Halloween and Christmas events, so we thought we'd briefly show off our New for 2019 ride. https://i.imgur.com/aJchRFv.png This is Kyuden Ryu, located at the back of the Sacred Gardens area. Re: Efteling

Wow, that's a nice surprise announcement. Sad to hear that Bob is at the end of its life, it was a fun little ride but I can see why they're closing it. Interesting to hear that they're once again opening two coasters, but what's interesting is that they apparently aren't racing like Joris. What's a...

Rode it last night and wow, it's even more fun in the dark. We managed to get put near the back and the thing was abosutely hauling through the course- probably the fastest I've seen it. https://i.imgur.com/h0lk6MC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1S1oJfT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jP6WkXg.jpg

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

I was at the park yesterday and it looks like, with a bit of work, it could easily be one of the better years. The first Scarefesty thing we experienced was the new Patch's Halloween Party show. Yes, it is intented for younger audiences, but it's so great to have live entertainment in Fountain Squar...
