Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Once again, Scarefest goes from strength to strength. I seem to say this every year, but based off my first impressions- 2019 is the best that Scarefest has ever been! Towers Street is decorated in it's traditional fleet of bunting and pumpkins, including a new set of ride-based ones. There's also s...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

I'll do a proper review of the mazes tomorrow- but The Attic is different to anything the Resort have done, whilst still feeling traditional and retaining that "Terror" vibe. As a theatrical based maze, it feels right as a separate ticket. It's great, and the sets and lighting are very good.

Re: The Future Of Scarefest

You'll have to forgive me for reviving such an old topic, but after experiencing the three Darkfield containers last week, would a more "theatrical theatre" type attraction work? For those that haven't heard of Darkfield, their three shows/attractions are very simple. You're given a pair o...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

On a speculative note thanks to this little tidbit on Darkest Depths, could we possibly see a big puppet for the "kraken"? And with some of the old Sub containers being sighted, maybe parts of the old alien puppet could be retrofitted?

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Theme Park Guide have shared a photo update of various construction-y bits, and with it comes the interesting news of containers inside the Courtyard for Darkest Depths, and confirming that The Attic will be, uhh, in the top floor of the ruins. What's interesting about this, is that access to the t...

Re: Fright Nights

If I'm brutally honest... no. As a standard passholder, there's not much incentive to pay extra for what has in the past been a string of weak days out. In my time visiting, Fright Nights has rarely impressed, and after the plethora of poor reviews from last year, it'll take a lot of changes for me ...

Re: Forbidden Kingdom Drop Tower - New for 2021

Whilst it's sad news to see Rameses departing, it's not a huge surprise that it's leaving the Resort as it's been on it's last legs for what seems like forever! It's great to see a new ride  installed at Chessington at long last, and even better that it's a drop tower, which is something the park ha...

On Sunday, Efteling closed Bob, and they've wasted no time in preparing the site for Max and Moritz, as seen in this (potentially sad) post on Instagram.

Re: Liseberg

It is yes- Helix and Balder have traditional on-platform drops, and you take your bags on Lisebergbanan (which is fun trying to keep hold of them!)

Re: Liseberg

Yeah, no matter which queue you use, you'll need to pop your bags in the lockers prior. If you're wanting to keep hold of your phone then the staff should ask for any smaller items in the station as they have trays for these.

Valkyria has one, just make sure you pop your bags in the free lockers (located in the shop) before joining :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

There's been a host in the scene from the start of the season- they tend to shine a big torch towards guests at the end of the scene before directing them through the "secret passage" :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

If you head up the road into the Resort as usual, and before you get to the big curve by overflow/traffic lights, there should be a sign pointing to Priority, Disabled and Drop Off zones :) there'll probably be a little queue going into it, halting all cars from moving.

Re: Legoland Windsor Resort - General Discussion

It's always nice to see a coaster investment (+1 yay), but I'm little concerned about capacity. It's no secret that Legoland is a... busy place to say the least, and the tiny layout means it'll almost certainly be running the one train. Legoland as a park is small and already feels cramped, so hopef...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

Hit the nail on the head there, Chris. Whilst it may seem easy to just look at whatever's popular in the media and build an attraction based upon it, there's going to be a large chunk of guests unfamiliar with the property who also want to be entertained, and don't want to feel alienated just becaus...

Re: TowersTimes’ Summer Festival Vol.2 - Reviews & Feedback

Arguably the best event yet! Right from the get go everything was absolutely wild- particular highlights were the Rocky Horror Edition of Hex and the ultra-violence of Battle Galleons. As always the ERTs were great fun, thanks to the ops for being so efficient and kindly offering us a fastrack after...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

If you could only do three coasters at night, I'd prioritise Nemesis, Wicker Man and Thirteen. Nem and Wicker feel much faster and look great with all the red lighting, but because Thirteen is in the middle of nowhere, there's virtually no lighting and you can't really see where you're going. It sho...
