Re: Future Plans for the Towers themselves

This is arguably the best news from Towers in a long time! It's always great to see the underlooked Heritage side of the site looked after, especially this particular window given it's attempt to be restored about a decade back. Really hope this is a sign of things to come- although, on a random spo...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

That path should take you through the Woodland Walk which takes you to Forbidden Valley (which is right by the Skyride), so it should be a little quicker :)

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

If I'm entirely honest, I don't think it needs all three trains in operation. The queue was around the same length with two on Saturday evening, and even then it stacked a little. Maybe it can run more efficiently with three, but with the current offload procedures and restraint faff, I can't see it...

Re: Duel - General Discussion

Duel seemed to be struggling throughout last year in terms of effects and audio quality, and unfortunately it's only gotten worse. The speaker set up is a bigger issue than last season. A milder one is that the station and poltergeist room is slightly out of sync, but a bigger issue is that after th...

Re: Ideas & Suggestions

One of the best moments of last years event season was the party in the courtyard- would it be silly enough to have a karaoke session during it? Just imagine the drunken dancing combined with some beautiful/dreadful singing :lol

Re: Phantasialand

There was a deal last spring where you would get a second ticket free if you registered it on the day. The offer is returning this spring so there's a chance it'll also make an appearance this summer :)

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

I was kind of expecting last year to be Spinball's last (if I remember correctly wasn't there an LTDP that stated it's removal by 2019?), but as previously said it can't be round for much longer. Realistically it'll be replaced by more Cbeebies stuff after seeing how succesful the area was, but I ca...

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

I think Wicker Man is a great ride, but it's not all perfect so I thought I'd give a bit of a more critical look. (I'll try and balance things as I do genuinely like the ride, but some of the negatives are often glossed over.) There's no doubt that the Wicker structure is impressive, especially when...

Re: Project 2020

The application idea is a valid point and I hate to rain on your parade, but wasn't Swarm hinted at in an earlier LTDP? That may have been why it was submitted merely a year before opening seeing as the Council would've been expecting it. There's currently no LTDP (that we know of) that states a lar...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I think the ride itself is fun. The layout is over-the-top and really intense and just really nice to ride. Sure, it isn't buttery smooth, but I wouldn't call it overly rough. However... the area around the ride and the general experience puts me off so much. Everything is so dirty and horrible to l...

Re: Tifford Valley Theme Park

Hey all, Bit of a different post here than usual. But unfortunately we're ending development of the Tifford Valley Theme Park. Kyūden Ryū was set to be our biggest attraction yet, utilising all the commands we've used on our other rides. Unfortunately the sheer amount of work we'd set o...

Planning: Sweden 2019

Hey all, For this years big trip I'm looking into spending a few days of May in Sweden, starting at Gröna Lund, nipping into Kolmården and a weekend at Liseberg. I've never done any of these parks so I'm seeking all sorts of advice- tips, queue patterns, food etc. I will admit I'm a bit hesitant abo...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

I don't expect any major changes to come to the ride any more, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were further cuts, especially to the remaining actors in there.
It's a shame that the ride just doesn't work, from a hardware or narrative perspective.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

The scene's generally stayed the same in the past, with some minor changes (and a big one being the location change in 2015). You'd start off with a short video giving the story about two explorers who mysteriously vanished inside the ruins, with a really good jump from an air-cannon towards the...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

No other ride in the country comes close to Nemesis for me. The terrain interaction, the insane intensity... It's such a great ride and after all these years its still in my Top 5 Coasters. However... I do agree that it can be a bit too intense! After about three back to back rides I need a good sit...

Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

Thirteen's an odd case- as the years go by the general opinion of it gets more positive, but I can't help but enjoy it less and less as the years go on. Ok, the first thing is the queue. I won't go on about cattlepens for too long as that's a common pet peeve, but that doesn't really build any tensi...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Once again it's incredibly early to be thinking about this sort of thing, but here's what I hope/think we'll see at next years Scarefest. As mentioned at the Scaremazing Q&A, it's pretty much a given that we'll be seeing some sort of new scare zone format and roaming enterta...

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park London

I visited London a few weeks ago and spent a good hour or so here and had a good time. Our first stop was Wilde Maus XXL and I can honestly say this is one of those coasters that's just oodles of fun to be on. The queue is a really great distraction that got us all excited to ride, and the coaster w...
