Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

When I visited Monday, I think some of the fog effects weren't working, but I'm not sure if I just me not understanding the ride.

Spoiler: show
We had so few fog machines go off in the final corridor, but I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be?

Where can you enter the Towers? The only entrance I knew was locked when I tried last time.

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

I might be alone on this but I think Alton Towers has a large collection of recognisable characters to use. There’s the ministry of joy and all it’s ‘colourful’ characters, the phalanx and the nemesis creature, galactica and the astronauts, Thirteen and it’s wraiths, wicker man and the beoren and th...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I thought this was so weird but today, I saw at a traveling fair a Nemesis simulator ride... It was pixelated but it showed Nemesis pre Air (I think - again pretty pixelated) but I thought it was hilarious and so strange that this exists.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

All the theming improvements this year ad we end up with poorly spelt office printer notices. Unless it's a clue to SW9 :lol. SW9: World's first ride dedicated to no theming  :lol  Does anyone know what that stage is in the mutiny bay/welcominn courtyard is? I saw it again today and I’m really inte...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I've seen Pringles with Wicker Man pics on them at Tesco I think, but they were part of the 2 for 1 special - they also had Thorpe Park's logo on them.

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

I think it would be great if they started doing some special events, focusing on merging the past and present and future of the park, celebrating everything that made Alton Towers the park we see today. It's a unique idea that only something like Alton Towers can pull off, their history is a large p...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

They should make a projection for the maintenance shed.. the art style they used for the pre-show is gorgeous, could have quite a spectacular ending to the ride.. enhancing the experience further.. then that cheeky little scare with the triggered effects. I think the art style is by far the best th...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I'm very excited for Apocalypse weekends. I've been really interested in these new, unique ways that parks have been trying to really put guests in the heart of experiences that don't end when the ride does. Apocalypse weekends seem to be a perfect match for this. I'm curious whether it's an AR app,...

Re: The Walking Dead: The Ride - New for 2018

Well... I went on it for the first time today and I was surprised, to say the least.  Funny that the queue lines are 10x scarier than the actual ride... But they were absolutely fantastic. I was shaking by the end of it. We were at the end of the group let in to the corridors, so I think the flashin...

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

I think it would be awesome if it was a water horror ride! Maybe it could be themed to the opposite god of the Wicker Man, and have it be themed around a water based god. I feel as if that would be a great addition and could help bring those two together into one section, so that Wicker Man is no lo...

Re: SAW: The Ride

I really love Saw. I've been noticing how well it has aged, and even though I've ridden it a hundred times, I'm still discovering new things to this day. The Warehouse ride theming is just a cut above, with all these wonderful little hidden gags for those who have seen the films. I really admire how...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Past

I was listening to the Beatles a few days ago, and my mum and I were reminiscing about Octopus' Garden. Man, I used to love that section when I was younger! It was the only reason we went to Thorpe (besides Logger's leap and Flying Fish).

Re: Madame Tussauds London

Alien Escape is open!
And is okay with beautiful sets but is criminally short and very over priced. Would not have done it if I hadn't been a passholder.
The Sherlock one is pretty good though! Very enjoyable.
