Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I've also noticed the internal ladder built into the structure, I doubt this is for constructing as the cherry pickers are being used. Why would a ladder be needed inside the theming element? Kind of suggests there will need to be internal mainetence of the structure - maintaining of the electrics a...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I agree, looking forward to seeing this structure slowly go up, I'm also interested to see how the track is going to interact. It already looks promising.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Wow, a potential high speed fly through the theming structure! They appear to be building a tunnel around the track, going through what should be the legs of the Wickerman. High speed head chopper anyone?!

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I guess that the wood looks so dark because it's absolutely saturated with the rain we've been having. Very excited to see the theming structure going up, can't wait to see what it turns out to be like. I'm pretty sure the plans stipulated that the trains will be 12 rows?

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

This will certainly not be a standup or floorless, the height of the tunnel where the first drop from the station is far too low, otherwise there'd be a lot of decapitations!

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Im sure the plans don't show brakes anyway, we don't know if there's going to be trim brakes or not?

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Could that sign not be referring to the ride we are getting? It would make sense, with the themeing structure being the pirate's secret weapon? Unless they were hinting at a possible new SW from B&M ('from Switzerland'). Although we are pretty sure this will be a Wickerman theme now, its just a ...

Re: SW8 Construction Discuss

Oh my, I can't beleive I missed this today. Could we see vertical construction within the next few days/week? I'd say so, we've seen a lot of foundations so possibly they're ready to go with the actual footers. Wood has arrived to start being cut on site and of course GCI themselves have now arrive...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

The two curved concrete walls with earth removed between them in the last picture looks like a trench, the sort of trench the coaster might pass through?

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Would I be wrong in saying Duel is set for some TowersLovingCare over the next closed season? I seem to remember reading something? If so, could this be a retheme t coincide with SW8?

The dark section was under the ground with the big scary duck. The tunnel is still there.

No part of the flume was underground, this was an indoor section, of which part of the trough remains next to the new footpath.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

It's definitely highly plausible that part of this ride is gong to be underground, there are many things pointing towards it. I'm a bit confused over the station area as the original application shows the building above ground, and we've seen a list of materials for the exterior of the buildings. Th...
