Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

Some rumour and speculation from British Theme Park Archive about possible different ideas that were kicking around for a Thorpe Park dark ride, before Derren Brown became attached to it and the ride we ended up with was installed. An interesting comment is that an Oceaneering dark ride system simil...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

The Ghost Train investment was realistically always going to be high risk. It was being developed when consumer VR was in its infancy, and they've essentially just used consumer grade technology in a high stress industrial environment. It would be incredibly disappointing if Merlin have got cold fee...

Re: Alton Towers Hotel & Splash Landings

I would expect they are doing some form of demand based pricing. Not sure how sophisticated it is, could just be they have X rooms at a lower rate and the rest at a higher rate.

I feel everyone should be reminded about the wonder that was Terror Tomb, from this video by British Theme Park Archive.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

It would appear SeaWorld are expanding again in 2021. As posted by thecoasterkings.com , a planning request has been submitted to develop a large body of land that would redevelop from the main entrance and dolphin nursery, all the way around to the Bayside Stadium, including a brief extension beyon...

Re: Fright Nights

It would appear an update occurred on the ticketing system today. Gone is the mention of the number of mazes, and the year has been corrected.

Re: Fright Nights

It's usually me that spots the changes. :P :lol Ordinarily, the Accesso booking page doesn't get updated until accurate information is known, so once something is on there it should be as reliable as can reasonably be. The reason being, it is literally forming the contract between guest and operator...

Re: Fright Nights

Whilst I would tend to agree, although the main screen has the correct dates, it sounds ridiculous that we should not trust the information on the booking page itself for a ticket being sold. I can't think of any other situation where something would be sold with a description that people have to co...

Re: Alton Towers Hotel & Splash Landings

Hotel rates appear to still be going crazy. First weekend in May, for 2 adults, already with passes: Splash: £354 CBeebies: £489 ATH: £459 Treehouse: £1653 :lol Pod: £273 These rates are around the same price, if not slightly more, than I got last October at the Hard Rock Hotel, at Universal Orlando...

Re: Fright Nights

Perhaps earlier than normal, Thorpe Park have already started selling their Fright Nights tickets. The odd part is that the ticket type states it includes "Five Scare Mazes", where the number of attractions is not normally announced until August it September. https://i.imgur.com/3MnbVUL.jp...

Re: Mega Road Trip (US)

Looks like you've planned out an amazing trip! There are certainly people here who have been to all of these parks, so should be able to help if you have any specific questions.

And yes, photos and reports are always enjoyable to see! :)

Re: Chessington - The Future

As posted on SouthParks , information about a new Rainforest land at CWOA has been revealed. The new land will contain three rides and a small number of animals, and is inspired by the Resort's work with the World Land Trust. https://i.imgur.com/y1WREcG.jpg Included in the new land will be a new jun...

Given the announcement a little earlier from David Walliams that a Gangsta Granny ride is to arrive this year, I would say that's pretty much confirmed it.

Another rebrand incoming for Legoland, as reported on the SouthParks Facebook page . Atlantis Submarine Voyage will be rebranded LEGO City Deep Sea Adventure for the 2020 season. The new name matches that of the submarine ride at LEGOLAND California Resort and the upcoming LEGOLAND New York, which s...

As reported on the TowersTimes Facebook page , Alton Towers Resort have released an updated logo to reflect the Resort's 40th anniversary. Could this suggest the Resort are planning some special events this year to celebrate the milestone birthday? https://i.imgur.com/aNJUG1l.png

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Having been without decent investment for a concerningly long time, and with general park upkeep and management going further downhill in 2018, it felt to me that the 2019 season was starting from a difficult position. The build up to the season continued to not fill me with great confidence as whil...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

The site is certainly big enough, it's similar in size to Swarm Island and the area Nemesis Inferno uses, plus any track can extend into the lake. As such it is one of two remaining sites the park have publicly marked as potential spots for a roller coaster, the other being near the Dome. There are ...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

So this year would seem to be the final make or break year, at least whilst still at the planning stage. I feel that with the people they've brought on for this final push, they have the best chance the project has had since its conception. But there is seemingly still a huge amount of work to do, e...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

Oh wow, didn't realise only half of it was working!

Spotted that the boarding groups fill within 5 minutes of park opening at the moment, which is pretty insane. But at least it means that there isn't the Orlando style 8 hour queues.
