Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Popped up for the afternoon and evening. Park was very busy with queue times around 60 mins. Late on Th13teen was 90 minutes. :0. Purchased maze tickets for £6 with the AP discount offer. However, there was some confusion as to validity. Myself and Kieron were told there were no time slots as the sy...

Re: Travelers on park today

For the record, there was no massive influx of traveller today. I noted a couple (and by that, I seen no more than two :) ) of traveller families on park.

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Not going to go in to to much detail as I have had a long day, but a quick run down of my views of this years Scarefest. Lighting in Towers Street, The Ruins and around TOTT is very good. Rest of park is poor, and Nemesis is just bathed in flood lights. :(. Generally a good atmosphere, despite it no...

Travelers on park today

Last year was the first time that Travellers had decended on mass on the first Sunday of Scarefest. Though it seems that Towers were prepared, i think due to a late tip off , and had plenty of security in place. Prior to that, it was only normally Easter Sunday that travellers visited enmass. One wo...

Official meet stress: a suggestion - views welcome.

Mind you, anyone with smart phone probably has a flat battery by lunch time anyway. :)

What vehicles do drive?

I have the Punto Active (03 year) as well (active Sport), though not sure 'sport' makes a difference. :0. Mines been ok. Had to replace the battery a couple of months ago. Added a nice 30,000 to the clock since I got it two years ago. Previous owner had only done 30,000 in it and had only travelled ...

Should TTF hire AT for the day?

There's not really much need for TTF hiring out a ride for ERT at Towers. Hiring Nemesis was banded about a few years back but nothing came of it. It is perfectly possible for pass holders etc to whore Nemesis, Oblivion and To a lesser degree, Rita during ERT in the morning, with the first two being...

Re: Good and bad points of SRQ

Nemesis SRQ today was great as usual, and managed a few rides via it. Certainly is the best on park, despite being seemingly the most awkward to run, being the opposite side of the loading bays and the difficulty the host would have of judging where the empty seats are. Th13teens didn't seem to bad,...

Re: Scarefest 2011

Remember all the prep for the mazes will be taking place inside the tent, so people are unlikely to see anything much going on. However, there has been a slight change to the tent which hasn't been picked up on yet, and that is the installation of a new set of doors which are located by the far emer...

3 for 2 mugs

I've always got MAP discount on offers such as 2 for 1 chocolate bars. 80p for two choccy bars do wonders for my diet. :0. The only time I have been refused MAP discount on a special offer was with the two meals for £10 or whatever the offer is after 3pm in Woodcutters.

Re: Post removal hypocrisy

Was the post offensive or just slightly bad taste, dark humour? I would suggest the latter, and an attempt to stir up a bit of debate, which it certainly did. Though follow up posts after that, knowing some controversy had been created were probably a bit trollish. ;) . Taking offence to something i...

Oakwood Theme Park 26 August

Myself, Dan, Matt, [s:8t5oafjg]Duckman[/s:8t5oafjg] John & Jordan paid a visit to Oakwood Theme Park on Friday, the day before the [s:8t5oafjg]Winter[/s:8t5oafjg] Summer Spec Meet, This was mine, along with Jordan's first visit to the park. Didn't really have any high expectations, but was looki...

I quite liked the rollover preview too. Good having the quick reply box always open.

Can't seem to access forum via Tapatalk. :(. Forum still seems rather slow to load, though slightly better than it has been lately.

Edit. Tapatalk works again now. :)

Re: Sam's Europa Park Review

Great report Sam. So glad you really liked the place, and all the build up to the trip and the ensuing excitement weren't misplaced. :D I may as well throw my, rather delayed, trip report in this here topic too, rather than starting a new topic. Part one( a day in Liverpool and a day at Towers), par...

Re: I Predict A Riot!

There is no excuse for the scenes we have been witnessing the last few nights. It is not remotely understandable either, at least not until we get down to the route cause of the reasons as to what has, and still is happening. It would seem, no matter how many apologists the BBC wheels out, that thes...

Re: The Churnet Valley Conservation Society

It is worth remembering that the vast majority of residents local to Alton Towers support the place and also understand the importance tourism has to the local economy. It is just a very small minority, albeit, rather vocal, who are against the park, or indeed, anything else that seemingly brings pe...

Drinking fountains and Queuelines

Surely The simple answer to avoid paying over the odds for a Poncho if caught in a prolonged spell of bad weather during the day would be to check the local weather forecast before leaving home and take appropriate attire for the predicted conditions just incase, if you don't want to get wet?

Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

That has been working for quite a while now, or at least it does with the new Standard & Premium passes. Not sure about passes issued last year. Even with this, passes are still being double checked. At Thorpe, members of staff walk along the queue line before opening scanning passes and giving ...
