Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

That is what they used to do, hence the reason for having a dedicated AP entrance. But there is very little room in the entrance plaza to hold the amount of people there before 10am, and of course, as you say, there's money to be had by having people in Towers Street with food & drink outlets cl...

Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

The sign to the right of the Tower stating it was the entrance for Early Ride Time, Hotel Guests and AP Holders, was removed some time ago, as can be seen in this photo from Scarefest last year. (The photo is originally from Rob's photo album) :- That entrance was primarily used between 9 an 10 am t...

Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

Looking at this photo it seems you used to use the right hand side as a hotel guest or pass holder: http://old.towerstimes.co.uk/attractions/ts/ts0714.JPG But that is a good few years old. I have to say every time I have been this year I have just used any queue and not been told otherwise. The new...

Re: Amy Winehouse has Died....

To coin a phrase, I guess maybe it is a sign of the times:- That within minutes of her death being announced, Facebook & Twitter feeds were full of updates mentioning it to some degree or another, as well as topics started in a multitude of forums etc. Yet, yesterday, hardly even a mention of th...

Re: Separate queue for annual pass holders?

The designated, signed, AP used to the the far right turnstiles. That seemingly vanished some years ago, and AP holders were free to use any turnstile they wished to enter the park. Not sure how long this new designated entrance point has been in existence, but we were directed towards it on Friday ...

Re: New TV Advert - All Time Greats!

As others have said, whilst an advert may not get people suddenly deciding to go and visit Alton Towers with immediate effect, it does put Alton Towers in to peoples minds, make them aware of the brand, even if subconsciously, and thus likely to have the notion of paying a visit at some point during...

Separate queue for annual pass holders?

Yes that is correct in regards to a seperate AP entrance. It is the entrance nearest to the ticket collection points. We were directed towards it last Sunday when trying to pass through one of the other turnstiles. Though rather than queue an age to pass through the gate and have our particulars che...

As Dan mentioned, a sign stating Nemesis is leading the way and on the second tube has now been kindly placed on its tube :-

Going Alone?

I went once on my own. A few days after RITA had opened. Had planned to go with a friend, but some drama forced him to cancel late the night before. Decided, hell, i will go anyway. Did some Nemmy whoring on ERT, 1/2 dozen rides on RITA via SRQ, 7 rides on Corkscrew, then went home at around midday....

Thorpe Park 2011

Visited Thorpe yesterday and am impressed by the massive improvement since AP preview day. Though busy, with queues of 45-90 mins, staff were working flat out, and despatch times were very good. Vast majority of staff were polite and friendly. Reliabilty was very good. We had one issue on Stealth wh...

Agree with Sam. Much better we all express our individuality as opposed to openly branding ourselves as one entity.

Free sweets at the exit

Nice gesture, even if part of a bigger marketing stratedgy on the park of Foxes. I remember the free Creme Egg in 2007 as part of the Chocolate Towers event. Given that events had a £2 premium on the standard gate price at the time, the standing joke at the time was your free Creme Egg really cost £...

Re: Ticket prices up again.

Alton Towers Theme Park Ticket Price is £39.60 They need to make more money. They announce increased in the gate price to £40.80, but in reality keep it at £39.60 (a "special" offer). Everyone still pays £39.60. However, those using vouchers and any form of discount (£5 off etc.) have the...

Re: Ticket prices up again.

Quite an underhand way to get a few extra pence out of people by charging more for those using 2 for 1's or 1/2 price entry. is it really worth it for 60p? Surely things can't be that desperate? Are the quenchers which a thrust down peoples throats as soon as they enter Towers Street not selling wel...

You will need to search for Gatwick to Karlsruhe Baden. :)). Flights can be anything from £10-£50 each way, excluding extras.

Re: Drayton Manor Park 2011: Hotel, Thomas Land Ride & Coaster!

My first visit to Drayton Manor this season, and I came away rather impressed. Despite there being, up until this season at least, some apathy directed towards DM, (including from myself), I have only ever really had one bad visit in the 6 times I have visited. My main gripes were mainly that the va...
